Wild Immortal Gu

Inside grotto-heavens and blessed lands there are normally no wild Immortal Gu left in place. Once one forms, the Gu Immortal takes it for personal use. Leaving it lowers control of the aperture, and a rampaging desolate beast host becomes a problem. ^{ch. 909}

Most Gu Immortals would rather capture wild Immortal Gu than take the risk of refining Immortal Gu themselves. ^{ch. 918}

In an Earth Trench cave, Fang Yuan senses a wild Immortal Gu aura inside the oldest yaksha octopus king. The cave is old, and over time one of the Gu worms living in that king’s body emerges as a wild Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 933}

Some wild Immortal Gu live in desolate beasts and desolate plants, absorbing nutrients and coexisting while treating the host as food. Others hunt. Dragon Centipede is a fierce wild Immortal Gu that captures desolate beasts and desolate plants as prey. Wild Immortal Gu have low intelligence. Even with their own will, they are easily influenced by heaven’s will. ^{ch. 1086} Within a desolate beast group, wild Immortal Gu cannot be activated at will the way a Gu Immortal controls Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 1087}

Duke Long states that Immortal Gu are born from nature, which is why many wild Immortal Gu exist. Heaven and earth can refine Gu such as fate Gu even when people cannot; a newly born fate Gu might be rank six or even rank nine, and if no one refines it, it becomes a wild Immortal Gu open to anyone’s possession. ^{ch. 1961}

A lightning forest can be nature refining Gu, advancing a wild Immortal Gu without a Gu Immortal’s full control. If someone refines that wild Immortal Gu mid-process, nature’s refining is interrupted and cannot be recovered. Seizing another person’s Gu is extremely hard, but wild Immortal Gu are different. A rank eight wild Immortal Gu can even have a path toward rank nine. ^{ch. 2020}
