Sword Marks Targeting Death

At Lang Ya blessed land, while seeking reverse refinement of flying sword Immortal Gu and other rank seven Immortal Gu, Lang Ya land spirit hands him this move instead of reverse refining in time for the nearing tribulation. The previous Lang Ya land spirit had bought it; it suits many sword path Immortal Gu. It permanently expends dao marks in the sword path Immortal Gu and carves them onto the target. After the Immortal Gu flies away, those sword path dao marks seek the target’s weak spot and attack it. With flying sword Immortal Gu as the core, a pierce may not look fatal and the surface wound can heal quickly, yet the left dao marks still break a snow monster’s hidden core and kill it. ^{ch. 1054}

Each use permanently reduces the Immortal Gu’s dao marks with no recovery. Heavy use can weaken it until a qualitative change demotes rank, so the move is unfavored and was bought cheaply. Every cast is akin to a minute reverse refinement of the Immortal Gu. Fang Yuan accepts it as suitable for his situation and finds desolate beast snow monsters destroyed in one hit while he learns the cast under blizzard pressure. ^{ch. 1054}

Short ownership makes emergency casts fail often; backlash draws blood from his mouth when focus slips. Successful casts pierce an iron crown eagle and kill the last such eagle without mishap, and he leans on the move to drop desolate beast snow monsters quickly while mortal methods clear the many small ones. Triple Layered Sword Wave is far harder and slower to activate than this move, so he cannot use that third sword path killer move extensively. ^{ch. 1055}

Against Chu Du he shoots flying sword Immortal Gu with this move; Chu Du grabs the Immortal Gu and later sees a blood trace on his palm from the move’s effect, though the palm injury heals at once. ^{ch. 1057}

After he loses flying sword Immortal Gu, he misses that core pairing: the move was extremely effective against ancient snow monsters, while triple layered sword wave is wide range and wasteful on a single ancient snow monster. ^{ch. 1095}

At Tai Qiu, Fang Yuan uses this move against a third ancient eagle hound hiding in ambush; the move intercepts it, but the eagle hound suffers no damage, and Fang Yuan judges that it seems to carry a wild Immortal Gu to be able to block the strike. ^{ch. 1136}
