Qing Chou

Appearance

It is an enormous soul beast with a tortoise shell, four tiger paws, a dragon tail, a snake neck, and a human head. ^{ch. 1508} Its body is large and mountain-like, with a weird appearance: tortoise shell, tiger claws, dragon tail, neck like a snake, and a human head. ^{ch. 1515} Anger stretches that long snake neck like a pillar, and the scales on it emit a cold eerie light. It opens bloodshot eyes when it senses a link to Spectral Soul. ^{ch. 1508} When it roars after Fang Yuan escapes into Fallen Flower Hall, its eyes are bloodshot. ^{ch. 1517}

Chen Yi, using karma divine tree, understands how Qing Chou came to be. Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable’s Divine Bean Palace sat in the west. Qing clan obtained it, which angered Spectral Soul before he became venerable. He slaughtered Qing clan. At the brink of destruction, Qing clan’s first supreme elder sent the clan’s inheritance into Divine Bean Palace and set up a revival method. Grudge, hatred, and countless Gu Immortal fragment souls were drawn and stored there. As green ghost desert formed, those fragments could not revive. They gathered and fused into an unprecedented legendary immemorial soul beast. ^{ch. 1516}

The soul beast had human nature and deep wisdom. It wanted revenge on Spectral Soul, kept the Qing surname, called itself Chou, and took the name Qing Chou. By the time it formed, Spectral Soul had already become venerable and disappeared. It wanted to take revenge on Spectral Soul Demon Venerable’s friends and family, but it was imprisoned within Divine Bean Palace. Genesis Lotus had arranged the palace to eliminate a bad effect whose cause was his rejection of a child who wanted to revive his mother. That cause grew until it nurtured Qing Chou. ^{ch. 1516}

Qing Chou was born from the palace and imprisoned in it. Over countless eons it tried to unravel the palace and control that rank eight Immortal Gu House, and it gained some results: it could forcefully manipulate Divine Bean Palace for a time and open an entrance. Old Ghost Bai Jun and Eagle Concubine ventured in and were suppressed into slaves. It is a legendary immemorial soul beast that can cultivate and nurture many wild Immortal Gu on its body, including rank eight Soul Beast Token, which it refined and gave to Old Ghost Bai Jun to use a soul beast army against the palace. ^{ch. 1516}

It also gained some of karma divine tree’s power, turning into an obsession rooted in revenge, so it could discern anyone closely related to Spectral Soul. That method is wood path, not wisdom path. Fang Yuan’s Spectral Soul true inheritance is a burden here. Chen Yi outside the battlefield does not see through Fang Yuan’s disguise, while Qing Chou does. ^{ch. 1516}
