Chapter 1522

Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable founded Heavenly Lotus Sect, once Central Continent’s top sect, now mid-tier within the ten great ancient sects. Its first supreme elder Chen Yi, a rank eight Gu Immortal, holds Genesis Lotus’ true inheritance, and Fairy Zi Wei sends him alone. The inheritance lets him greatly interfere with Divine Bean Palace, and he will most likely take it over and eliminate the legendary immemorial soul beast Qing Chou. Qing Chou, formed through Spectral Soul Demon Venerable, carries some of karma divine tree’s power and senses anyone closely related to that Venerable. Chen Yi wants to capture it instead, to research karma divine tree and hunt down the remaining Shadow Sect members. Killing the weakened Qing Chou, already completely suppressed by the palace, would be easy. ^{ch. 1522}

Yet once Chen Yi joins Heavenly Court as a newcomer, his status falls greatly, and only contributions raise it. Controlling Qing Chou would make him very important there, so he infiltrates the palace and tries to subdue the beast. Fang clan’s Gu Immortals arrive, as Chen Yi had expected, and set up peach blossom maze, an immortal battlefield killer move. He orders Old Ghost Bai Jun and Eagle Concubine out. They had already defected to become his lackeys on learning his cultivation level and identity, and that his control of the palace suppressed their master. ^{ch. 1522}

The palace entrance opens and soul beasts charge out, among them three immemorial ones. Fang Di Chang, a wisdom path great grandmaster and second supreme elder, leads the expedition, with Fang Hua Sheng in charge of six Gu Immortals, among them Fang Leng, Fang Yun and Fang Chen. Fang Yuan, inside Inquiry Dock, praises peach blossom maze for exposing a palace that should lie hidden deep below the desert. Fang clan’s three concealed Immortal Gu Houses sustain the maze as its cores. The soul beasts do not charge but stand in a circle around the palace. ^{ch. 1522}

Fang clan’s attacks hit with great power, yet the beasts take little injury and heal rapidly, which deeply shocks the Gu Immortals. Chen Yi shouts. Green light rises from the deepest part of the beasts and forms wooden armor that shields each from head to toe. Fang Di Chang names it Divine Bean Palace’s immortal killer move green armor vegetable garden, though Fang clan merely knows its name and appearance. Fang Yuan ties the move to Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable and proposes probing it first, and Fang Di Chang agrees. ^{ch. 1522}
