Fang Yun is a rank six Fang clan Gu Immortal, the adopted son of second supreme elder Fang Di Chang, held captive with Fang Leng in green ghost desert.
Old Ghost Bai Jun binds both captives with dark grey soul chains inside a soul beast group. Fang clan is named a Western Desert super force, and Fang Yun has weight enough for ransom talks even at rank six. He is the slightly younger captive, tries to bargain for looser chains so he can message the clan, then to settle privately rather than escalate. ch. 1504

At Fang clan headquarters he stands by Fang Di Chang’s bedside as a young rank six Gu Immortal and is again named that elder’s adopted son. He is young and handsome, and his eyes are bright like stars. He says he cultivates cloud path, not wisdom path, and that he was allowed to cultivate cloud path before. Fang Di Chang tells him cloud path suits his lively nature, that cloud path is only a minor path beside wisdom path, and that he should hold a wisdom path inheritance without switching unless a critical situation forces the sacrifice. ch. 1861
