Old Ghost Bai Jun

Old Ghost Bai Jun is a grey-robed rank seven lone immortal in green ghost desert who holds rank eight Soul Beast Token.

He captures Fang Leng and Fang Yun, binds their souls with dark grey soul chains, and tortures them to force a ransom letter to Fang clan. He refuses to kill them outright because Fang clan is a Western Desert super force, names Fang Di Chang as that clan’s second supreme elder and a famous wisdom path expert, and worries that a clan search of green ghost desert would hinder his master’s plan. He wants Fang clan kept out of the desert for a few hundred years. He has rank seven cultivation and is close to rank eight, but does not dare undergo tribulation yet. He shows a sapphire ladybird-like Gu the size of a small bowl, its carapace dotted with golden star specks, and names it rank eight Soul Beast Token. It enslaves soul beasts, including immemorial soul beasts, without needing rank eight immortal essence, so he can use it at rank seven. Fang Leng reads that with an immemorial soul beast beside him, Fang clan would have to treat him as a quasi-rank eight existence. ch. 1504

Appearance

He wears a grey robe. He has a sharp nose, thin eyes, and a goatee. He sits on the back of a bull-shaped ancient soul beast with a dark and pleased expression. ch. 1504

Illusion body and shield tactic

Fang Yuan recognises him as a rank seven soul path Gu Immortal and attacks to take the aperture or capture him alive for Ying Wu Xie. Old Ghost Bai Jun uses an illusion body, then tries to use the Fang clan captives as shields, knowing he cannot win a head-on fight against Fang Yuan’s soul beast army. ch. 1506

Master’s summons

After Fang Yuan wrecks his soul beasts, he rages that the loss delays his master’s plan, and his body shakes with fear at the thought of that master. Eagle Concubine appears and brings him back. They bow: Bai Jun greets master. The master is a soul beast with disheveled hair. Old Ghost Bai Jun plops down and begs to be spared. ch. 1508

Immemorial soul beasts

He controls immemorial soul beasts through Soul Beast Token, laughs that an Immortal Gu House cannot save Fang clan, then hides behind two of those beasts as his aura weakens. He shouts that he is still unfamiliar with Soul Beast Token. Fang Yuan’s thought fire burns on him. ch. 1514

Slave origin

He and Eagle Concubine had ventured into Divine Bean Palace and been suppressed into Qing Chou’s slaves. Qing Chou refined Soul Beast Token and gave it to him to use a soul beast army against the palace. The moment he moved, he met Fang clan’s immortals and Suan Bu Jin, failed, and exposed the matter. ch. 1516

Palace defection

When Chen Yi takes control of Divine Bean Palace and suppresses their master, he and Eagle Concubine defect and become Chen Yi’s lackeys. ch. 1522 Chen Yi later sends them out against flowery wind warriors. They are rank seven Gu Immortals and experienced demonic cultivators, skilled at preserving their lives after being pursued by the righteous path. ch. 1525

Fang clan slave

Fang clan forcibly subdues him and Eagle Concubine as slaves after the fight over Divine Bean Palace. ch. 1616 Later recall treats that outcome as Fang clan recruiting two rank seven demonic path experts. ch. 1776

Earthly flame forest

He is still Fang clan’s slave Gu Immortal when the clan moves against Dong clan’s earthly flame forest, and he shows his stance for the assault. ch. 2273
