Near Divine Bean Palace, Heavenly Lotus Sect first supreme elder Chen Yi sits concealed and activates an immortal killer move. Green smoke rises from his shoulders and head, gathers six feet above him, and forms a thick-trunked tree hung with dozens of oddly shaped fruits. He stops the move, reads the course of events around the palace, and later notes that his wood path karma divine tree is still at rank eight; at rank nine the tree would create karma fruits according to his wishes so he could reverse deduce a cause and strike its root. ch. 1516
Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable created the rank nine form after inspiration from Limitless Demon Venerable’s true inheritance. In his account it takes fate as soil and luck as water, ignores surface confusion, and finds the root cause and effect of matters. ch. 1516

After searching Chen Yi’s soul, Fang Yuan gains two Genesis Lotus true inheritances, karma divine tree and karma relocation. Under the light of wisdom he rebuilds a rank six karma divine tree using rank seven mature bamboo Immortal Gu as the core with other rank six wood path Immortal Gu, substituting many mortal Gu for the missing cores Cause and Effect. The substitute steps are complex, activation is slow, and he cannot use that version in real battle; even with a rank seven core the activated move stays at rank six. He recalls Chen Yi’s cast as grand and lasting, and judges the move defense-focused yet more comprehensive than reverse flow protection seal or verdant sun flame cloak, with potential for offense, movement, or healing. ch. 1781
