Chapter 1781

Western Desert’s righteous path still spreads slanders, but its suppression of Fang clan is all noise and no action now that steal dao has been used. Fang clan’s Gu Immortals are overjoyed that striking treasure moon oasis has begun to pay off. Fang Di Chang laments that the burning firefly desert killer remains unfound. He and Fang Gong decline to act against Dong clan, the most suspicious, having no evidence and fearing a trap. Dong Lu Chen strengthens his defenses against Fang clan, secretly hoping its investigation will clear his clan while on the surface keeping a tough stance and demanding compensation. ^{ch. 1781}

Fang clan searches only perfunctorily, because its true crisis is the suppression by the whole righteous path. It must avenge any culprit it finds, or its reputation would suffer deeply and its rank six and seven Gu Immortals would not accept inaction. Yet war between super forces would benefit only third forces. Fang Di Chang therefore tells Fang Gong privately to stall the investigation until they repair three Immortal Gu Houses and refine Divine Bean Palace. Fang Gong agrees. He announces publicly that Fang clan will pursue the truth, has made much progress, and will neither let a culprit off nor malign an innocent person. ^{ch. 1781}

On the day of that announcement, a Fang clan Gu Immortal sends Fang Yuan many soul cores, including one rank eight immemorial soul core. When Fang Yuan extorted Fang clan in his previous life, it gave only rank six and seven soul cores and no immemorial ones. Fang Yuan reads the gift as appeasement, since the murder case weakened the clan’s intimidation, it needs his rank seven battle strength, and it cannot return the twenty droplets of heavenly dew it demanded. Fang Yuan risked attacking burning firefly desert for this result. He does not want Fang clan stable, since it would then not need him and would put little effort into developing green ghost desert. He also needs Western Desert’s righteous path to occupy Fang Di Chang, who might otherwise sense something amiss. In Fang Yuan’s previous life, Fang clan weathered the crisis without him and reached an agreement with the righteous path. ^{ch. 1781}

Fang Yuan then cultivates quietly in heavenly dew oasis. Ying Wu Xie develops green ghost desert rapidly with Soul Beast Token, and Fang clan keeps supplying soul cores. Fang Yuan’s killing of Chen Yi had destroyed the Gu worms in Chen Yi’s phantom aperture, leaving only soul and corpse. Searching the soul gave Fang Yuan two Genesis Lotus true inheritances, karma divine tree and karma relocation. Karma relocation, built on karma divine tree, moves those around the user, not the user. ^{ch. 1781}

Fang Yuan modifies karma divine tree into a rank six killer move, with rank seven mature bamboo Immortal Gu as the core and other rank six wood path Immortal Gu beside it. Lacking the core rule path Immortal Gu called Cause and the core wood path Immortal Gu called Effect, he replaces them with a vast number of mortal Gu. The result is slow to activate and unusable in actual battle. Bamboo is a grass rather than a tree, so the core is rank seven but the move only rank six. ^{ch. 1781}

The work also yields a new rank seven wood path killer move, mature bamboo chest, built on mature bamboo Immortal Gu with a wisdom path effect. Activated, it sends jade light from his chest, and a successful deduction leaves a dark green bamboo forest tattoo there. It excels at deducing one single matter from start to finish. If the deduction fails, immortal essence runs out or he is distracted, the move fails and injures soul and body, though the mind stays intact. Fang Yuan also gains luck path killer move Luck Plan Strategy, with rank six Immortal Gu Luck Plan as its core, a wisdom path effect and a specialty in battle tactics. Like other moves mimicking another path, it is strong but easily countered and less useful than actual wisdom path methods. ^{ch. 1781}
