The sole stated condition is that the inheritor take revenge for Qing clan by killing Spectral Soul; if Spectral Soul is already dead, revenge targets his family, friends, and disciples. After Spectral Soul became a Demon Venerable the inheritance became a joke in that era, yet Fang clan, nearest to green ghost desert, searched for clues across generations until the clues were complete and a responsive method let them begin searching the desert.
