Chapter 924

The mystical space has no mountains, rivers, wind, or land. Qin Bai Sheng tells Feng Jiu Ge that only Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable’s old arrangement let him lure his rival here. Though very powerful, Qin Bai Sheng’s own two trump cards are built for killing rather than trapping, so holding Feng Jiu Ge required activating the venerable’s device instead. Fairy Ling Mei asks whether this truly is Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable’s inheritance. ^{ch. 924}

Every generation’s Immortal Venerable or Demon Venerable stands at the peak of an era, one of only ten rank nine Gu Immortals in history. Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable was one such legend: a master of space path and stealing who also cultivated transformation path, disguising himself as countless people before reaching rank nine and causing huge commotions across the world. He was close to Long Hair Ancestor as well. Long Hair Ancestor’s failure to refine a space escape Gu became a lasting obsession even after death. Feng Jiu Ge quickly discourages them: the inheritance is not something they can obtain. He explains that Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable’s inheritances carry one strict requirement: the heir must be an otherworldly demon from beyond the five regions and nine heavens. Neither fairy meets that condition, nor does Feng Jiu Ge himself, nor even Qin Bai Sheng. Qin Bai Sheng names Spirit Affinity House, Feng Jiu Ge’s sect, as holder of one of Thieving Heaven’s true inheritances, and Feng Jiu Ge admits it, saying years of study there have taught them some things. Feng Jiu Ge adds that otherworldly demons, though rare, do exist, meaning worlds beyond the five regions and nine heavens must exist too, even though no one has ever ventured out to confirm it. ^{ch. 924}

Still unwilling to give up, the fairies note the inheritance is fixed in place and ask whether Feng Jiu Ge cannot simply take it by force. Qin Bai Sheng mocks the idea: even Giant Sun Immortal Venerable, after reaching rank nine, returned empty handed and suffered a loss at a Thieving Heaven true inheritance, which is why he hates otherworldly demons so deeply. Feng Jiu Ge adds a theory: because the venerable was himself an otherworldly demon, his space path dao marks came from beyond this world, so this very trap space has already transcended the five regions and nine heavens. Worried about escaping, Ling Mei asks how they will get out. Feng Jiu Ge answers that staying still for fifteen minutes will teleport them out automatically, since Spirit Affinity House’s own inheritance taught him the correct method to leave. But Qin Bai Sheng declares he means to keep Feng Jiu Ge trapped here for good and attacks. Feng Jiu Ge warns Ling Mei and Ao Xue not to fight back, since this space turns on whoever attacks, and a stronger blow leaves that attacker trapped longer, so the two hold back. ^{ch. 924}

Qin Bai Sheng then raises his Gu worms to full power, recites a death poem, and closes his eyes. He deliberately destroys his own immortal aperture, ending his life on the spot. He gives up his life to stop Feng Jiu Ge, an ultimate sacrifice. With no other aperture to hold it, winds of assimilation begin blowing from his body, and Ling Mei and Ao Xue scream out the name in fear. Winds of assimilation are extraordinary, dissolving everything they touch, so even rank eight Gu Immortals must avoid them at all costs. Even as a clear breeze the wind sets the whole space rippling, and killer moves would count for nothing here, so Feng Jiu Ge, Ling Mei, and Ao Xue each activate their own Gu to brace for what comes. ^{ch. 924}
