Chapter 1696

Duke Long appears above Dragon Palace, and an immense suction force from his phantom aperture slowly pulls the house toward him. The other rank eights attack, so he vanishes and Dragon Palace flies free again. When the rank eights try to chase it, he blocks them, and their battle raises huge tsunamis that implicate countless innocent lifeforms. Without Feng Jin Huang burdening him, no one present can match him, yet the Eastern Sea rank eights, righteous, demonic and lone alike, cooperate seamlessly. ^{ch. 1696}

Duke Long feels increasing pressure as the Eastern Sea Gu Immortals discern his methods. Nobody wants to fight him to the death, and because Dragon Palace flies all over the battlefield, he cannot set up a battlefield to trap it. Duke Long’s phantom dragon claws grasp Dragon Palace, but it shatters them and escapes, as in many failed attempts. Nobody wants to expose trump cards, and Duke Long himself withholds triple qi retraction, which could cripple him if countered. ^{ch. 1696}

In the River of Time, Fang Yuan, still in immemorial year monkey form, activates Summer Fan and grasps a huge long handled fan. Its wind sends Three Autumn Yellow Crane Platform and Shark Flow Lever into a tornado outside the river suppression lotus sealing formation. Feng Jiu Ge and Xing Ye Wang then fly out to charge Fang Yuan and Bing Sai Chuan, and the formation holds because time path is restricted inside while other paths are amplified. Elite rank seven Gu Immortals mostly repair it, leaving a much smaller hole. Five Elements Grandmaster says from Year End Gatehouse that he cannot use the profound light again so soon and the formation has been modified against it. ^{ch. 1696}

Feng Jiu Ge’s Song Warrior brings four song warriors around Fang Yuan, and Xing Ye Wang stabs at Bing Sai Chuan. Fang Yuan and Bing Sai Chuan abandon them to attack the formation, since destroying it would force Feng Jiu Ge and Xing Ye Wang back into their houses. Five Elements Grandmaster keeps his own formation trapping Eternal Yacht, which Qing Ye controls. Three Autumn Yellow Crane Platform and Shark Flow Lever reenter, and Fang Yuan and Longevity Heaven begin to be suppressed. Bing Sai Chuan anxiously asks whether Fang Yuan still distrusts him, and once Fang Yuan comes close, raises a ball shaped light shield around both that freezes in time anything hitting it. The shield still holds against two rank eights and two houses. ^{ch. 1696}

Fang Yuan dispels the monkey form, becomes emperor yama and unleashes Luo Po Seal. Bing Sai Chuan drops his shield and takes the frozen attacks to pave the way. Fang Yuan shoots Luo Po seal into the formation, which stops working, and several rank seven Gu Immortals inside die on the spot. River water gushes in and it disintegrates piece by piece, leaving about one third. Five Elements Grandmaster is deeply shocked that Luo Po seal destroyed the core Immortal Gu. Feng Jiu Ge’s attack lands on Fang Yuan, who even in emperor yama form spits three mouthfuls of blood, loses large numbers of soul path Gu worms and has multiple Immortal Gu injured. Without the formation’s help, Fang Yuan and Bing Sai Chuan regain the upper hand. ^{ch. 1696}

Fang Yuan has Bing Sai Chuan cover him while he returns to monkey form, and Feng Jiu Ge shouts for cover too. Xing Ye Wang and the two houses surround Feng Jiu Ge, who takes a huge risk and summons the number one wind in the world with Assimilation Wind Song. Bing Sai Chuan shouts that his defense cannot block the winds of assimilation and they must retreat. The winds instead devour the stone lotus island, assimilating its fragments into wind. They grow larger, and anyone trying to reach the island would face this world-destroying wind. Bing Sai Chuan is furious and anxious, Fang Yuan’s expression is ashen, and Xing Ye Wang laughs wildly that if they cannot get it, neither will Fang Yuan and Bing Sai Chuan. ^{ch. 1696}
