Chapter 1962

Mortals watch a young man walk out of the phantom River of Time, and most Gu Immortals recognize Red Lotus Demon Venerable. Heavenly Court nurtured him, yet he became a Demon Venerable, betrayed the righteous path and damaged fate Gu, which his inheritor Fang Yuan has now destroyed. All heard him call Duke Long his master. His rank nine battle strength keeps Heavenly Court from acting rashly, since neither Duke Long, Di Zang Sheng nor Fang Yuan could match him. ^{ch. 1962}

Red Lotus says he has already died, so with fate Gu destroyed and call of the ancient holding barely any power, he is merely a will. The immortals discern the difference and sigh with relief. Duke Long snorts that Red Lotus clings to heretical thought and has won this time through his chosen pawn. Red Lotus replies that this is not a win, which is why he had to show up, and he appears before Fang Yuan. ^{ch. 1962}

Red Lotus’ will tells Fang Yuan he did very well, and Fang Yuan answers somewhat when asked if he has guessed what comes next. Even with fate Gu destroyed, the will says, refining destiny Gu from it as material still needs an otherworldly demon like him. The will adds that thanks to someone’s help Fang Yuan has finally become a complete otherworldly demon, looking toward Spectral Soul hiding at the battlefield’s edge. Spectral Soul recalls meeting the will on a stone lotus island in the River of Time, where he made a deal and learned of fate Gu and the truth of the three Demon Venerables’ invasion of Heavenly Court. He gave up attacking Heavenly Court and designed sovereign immortal fetus Gu instead. ^{ch. 1962}

On the will’s signal Spectral Soul has Old Man Zheng Yuan send all human will to Fang Yuan. The vast human will from Heavenly Court surges, Red Lotus’ will enters it, and fire like blazing red lotuses burns the human wills. Duke Long accuses Red Lotus of leaving this arrangement behind and flies up to destroy the wills. Wu Shuai stops him with Dragon Palace until it must retreat. Duke Long orders Heavenly Court’s Gu Immortals forward, a huge battle erupts with the three regions, and Di Zang Sheng coils around Fang Yuan as a shield. Bing Sai Chuan, fighting Demon Judgment Board from Calamity Luck Altar, sees that Red Lotus also seems set to refine destiny Gu, against Longevity Heaven’s goal. ^{ch. 1962}

Red Lotus’ will fuses into the wills, and the vast sea of wills cooperates with Fang Yuan and enters the flames. The flames spread into a sea of fire where Fang Yuan stands unmoving under the bloody cape’s protection. A Heavenly Court immortal laughs that Fang Yuan looks to lack destiny Gu’s recipe, and Fang Yuan admits he lacks it but says somebody on the battlefield has it. Heavenly Court’s immortals want to find and kill that person, and the three regions’ immortals want to find and protect them. Fang Yuan looks at Feng Jiu Ge, who looks back. ^{ch. 1962}

Feng Jiu Ge shuts his eyes and sings, and destiny song spreads across the battlefield. Heavenly Court’s immortals expect a boost, but the three regions’ immortals gain strength instead. Duke Long, furious and shocked, demands to know what Feng Jiu Ge is doing, while Feng Jin Huang cries out in utter shock. Qin Ding Ling, extremely furious, screams that Feng Jiu Ge has betrayed Heavenly Court, though she had given him her responsive luck Immortal Gu to nurture him. Calm, Feng Jiu Ge keeps singing, betraying Heavenly Court without hesitation and joining Fang Yuan and the allied forces of the three regions. ^{ch. 1962}
