Chapter 1963

Feng Jiu Ge sings destiny song against Heavenly Court as memories surface. In the second invasion of Lang Ya blessed land, Fang Yuan’s formation isolates him from Chen Yi, and theft path methods steal his Gu worms one by one, several of them sound path Immortal Gu. His battle strength falls greatly, and when he tries to escape with fixed immortal travel Immortal Gu, a prepared suppress space Immortal Gu stops him. Fang Yuan then steals the Fixed Immortal Travel he was after with the killer move Great Thief Ghost Hand. ^{ch. 1963}

Fang Yuan transmits secretly that he will neither kill Feng Jiu Ge nor steal his fate armor Immortal Gu. They are not on the same side, he says, but Feng Jiu Ge is not aligned with Heavenly Court in beliefs either, and he asks whether Feng Jiu Ge has started comprehending destiny song. Feng Jiu Ge first suspects a trap, but Fang Yuan slows his attacks and he grows very perplexed, wondering whether Fang Yuan was reborn through Spring Autumn Cicada. Fang Yuan transmits again that he will open the formation so Chen Yi believes he broke it and teleports Feng Jiu Ge away. Chen Yi arrives, Feng Jiu Ge warns him that the enemy steals Gu worms, and Fang Yuan critically injures Feng Jiu Ge, whose fate armor Immortal Gu activates. Chen Yi uses karma relocation to send him out, as Fang Yuan said. Heavenly Court loses the battle. ^{ch. 1963}

Feng Jiu Ge later reasons that Fang Yuan spared him because Feng Jiu Ge will be a big help to Fang Yuan later, and he fears a future conflict with Heavenly Court. He tells Fairy Zi Wei nothing of this. The destiny song Fang Yuan mentioned moves him most, and he gains fragmented comprehension of it. At Embroidered Tower, looking at the three bloody skins left by Reckless Savage Demon Venerable, all his comprehension undergoes a qualitative transformation, and he smiles that his next song seems to be destiny song. ^{ch. 1963}

At the later battle of the River of Time, Fang Yuan secretly transmits to Feng Jiu Ge while they fight intensely on the surface. He says the river greatly helps the creation of destiny song, but the Red Lotus true inheritance on the stone lotus island helps most, and he estimates it was left specially for Feng Jiu Ge. Feng Jiu Ge, unwilling to owe a favor, tells him that Embroidered Tower holds three true inheritances left by Reckless Savage Demon Venerable, each needing a key: attitude Gu, mutation Gu and adaptation Gu. Fang Yuan believes him and still lets him go. ^{ch. 1963}

During Central Continent’s Refinement Path Convention, Feng Jiu Ge enters the River of Time and finds the stone lotus island in the mist, as Fang Yuan had predicted. Red Lotus’ will there says the true inheritance was left specially for him, and Feng Jiu Ge answers that no gift will change his stance. The will replies that it never meant to bribe him, that the choice is his, and that he may refuse or even destroy the inheritance. Feng Jiu Ge accepts and enters a segment of Red Lotus’ memories. ^{ch. 1963}

In that memory Red Lotus undergoes the tribulation to reach the rank nine venerable realm, and only half of the Heavenly Court Gu Immortals who helped him survive. His wife Liu Shu Xian dies as well, having blocked the tribulation with her special physique, one of the ten extreme physiques. With her last words she tells him to live on, saying every fate is fixed and his is to become an Immortal Venerable and lead Heavenly Court. Red Lotus, whom she calls Hong Ting, is struck by incomparable grief, and Regret Gu forms in his immortal aperture. He decides to change everything and turns against Duke Long and Heavenly Court. ^{ch. 1963}

Red Lotus uses Spring Autumn Cicada to rebirth tens or hundreds of times, growing stronger and more capable with each one. Each tribulation is adjusted to his changes, so its result never changes, and the Gu Immortals who should die still die, Liu Shu Xian included. He tries ten, a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand times, and she dies each time, in his arms, in ashes under lightning or poisoned. Watching, Feng Jiu Ge feels intense sadness. He sees Red Lotus move from screaming at heaven to rational analysis, and finally to instant rebirth whenever she cannot be saved. ^{ch. 1963}

Eventually, in one attempt, Liu Shu Xian lies with broken bones and a last breath, and Red Lotus descends to her. He coldly says there is no saving her, that he failed again, and that he will try once more. He turns and leaves while she calls out Hong Ting with her dying breath. Hearing her desperate cry, he slows to a halt and looks down at his two hands. In the silence he stares wide eyed and shakes, feeling utter shock and immense fear as he suddenly sees himself. ^{ch. 1963}
