Chapter 1397

Ying Wu Xie’s soul has left the Pure Dream Reality Seeker Physique body and floats free, with no vessel of his own. Fang Yuan proposes he take the body of Fairy Cui Bo, a Western Desert Gu Immortal that Bai Ning Bing sealed in an ice coffin after she failed to flee. He sees no better option. Ying Wu Xie agrees, and Fang Yuan releases the rank seven change soul Immortal Gu to switch the two souls. ^{ch. 1397}

This Immortal Gu has a complicated history: Green first refined it during Spectral Soul’s first generation of split souls, before it passed to Spirit Affinity House’s Fairy Mo Yao. Mo Yao swapped souls with her lover Bo Qing to save him; Shadow Sect hid his remnant soul in Central Continent’s Earth Abyss, but his injuries proved too severe, and Heavenly Court eventually captured him. Mo Yao’s remnant soul stayed within Bo Qing’s immortal zombie body, and the change soul Immortal Gu was left behind until Fang Yuan used her will to lure it from Falling Heavenly River. Star Constellation heaven’s will later taught him the Gu’s effect. He then used it to take Ying Wu Xie’s body in a dream and steal sovereign immortal fetus Gu from Spectral Soul, so that Shadow Sect lost the Battle of Yi Tian Mountain completely while he turned it to his own gain. ^{ch. 1397}

Cut loose from her body, Fairy Cui Bo’s soul wakes screaming, but the sound reaches ordinary ears only as meaningless screeches. Fang Yuan alone understands her, using mortal soul language Gu he holds in huge quantity from Purple Mountain True Monarch’s inheritance. Feng Jiu Ge crosses Western Desert’s regional wall with a new rank eight Immortal Gu, after two Heavenly Court rank eight Gu Immortals halted his fight with Wu Yong. Heavenly Court returned Southern Border righteous path’s Gu worms, and injured Wu Yong left. Heavenly Court holds Feng Jiu Ge to his vow to pursue Fang Yuan and Shadow Sect, and lends him a rank eight Immortal Gu for future rank eight fights. They warn him that Fang Yuan, a complete otherworldly demon, must be killed, but killing him alone is not enough. Red Lotus Demon Venerable chose Fang Yuan as a pawn, and since he holds Spring Autumn Cicada, they expect he will head to the River of Time to find the stone lotus islands and inherit Red Lotus’ true inheritance, incredibly concealed.
