Lang Ya land spirit treats souls of Gu Immortals as a type of immortal material, with higher value for a soul path Gu Immortal and for cultivation memories still held in the soul. Gu Immortal souls are uncommon; many immortals can detonate their souls, and Shadow Sect is most adept at that. A soul already tampered beyond soul search is usable only as immortal material and would fetch only a hundred contribution points until Fang Yuan argues for placing it in Dang Hun Mountain to turn into guts Gu. Gu Immortal souls are supreme goods for that production, and a rank six Gu Immortal soul is then priced at two hundred and ten sect contribution points. ^{ch. 1198}

With that Gu Immortal soul, Lang Ya land spirit agrees guts Gu production can rise hugely, while noting such souls are found by fortune rather than sought out. Desolate beast and desolate plant souls remain far inferior, though quantity and a stable Tai Qiu source can offset the gap. ^{ch. 1199}

Human Gu Immortal souls with higher cultivation have deeper foundations; smashed on Dang Hun Mountain they produce guts Gu in higher quantity. Purple Mountain True Monarch’s inheritance also records a way to refine a Gu Immortal soul into a human shaped soul beast. ^{ch. 1397}

Spectral Soul’s true inheritance records a method that uses a rank seven Gu Immortal soul together with cleanse soul Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 1446}

Soul cores can feed Dang Hun Mountain in place of souls for guts Gu, but their quality at best matches the souls of other beasts and plants, not Gu Immortal souls. ^{ch. 1503}
