Zheng Ling

He has an ugly expression and asks whether Fang Yuan thinks they are fish on the chopping block, arguing that a fight would waste the blessed land’s resources. After a long negotiation he is the first to relent, offering a huge sum of immortal essence stones. Between the two, Zhou Zhong plays the aggressive party and Zheng Ling the peaceful party. ^{ch. 866}

Tai Bai Yun Sheng rejects the stones. Fang Yuan proposes ten duels. Zheng Ling agrees, with the precondition that both sides use an information path immortal killer move similar to mountain pledge Gu, so that after ten duels Fang Yuan’s side must open the door and let the rest leave. ^{ch. 867}

The feathermen send him against Fang Yuan in the second duel because Fang Yuan has rank seven battle strength. Zheng Ling has an immortal killer move. His speed is twice Zhou Zhong’s. Fang Yuan’s side wins none of the first nine duels. ^{ch. 867}

For the tenth duel Fang Yuan sets attack and defense: he attacks and they defend, then they attack and he defends, and the partner may use only healing. Zheng Ling steps forward. A strength path giant hand grabs at him. He suppresses the instinct to dodge and activates a defensive killer move. A suit of armor made of light appears on his body. The armor looks very real and blocks the hand. Fang Yuan has already seen this light path defensive immortal killer move in the fourth duel. When Fang Yuan uses all of his core Immortal Gu, the hand starts breaking the light path defense. Zheng Ling activates a second immortal defensive killer move and stacks them. He cannot hold on. Fang Yuan approaches and uses the immortal killer move poison spit. Zheng Ling is poisoned at once. He stares at Fang Yuan fixedly, then loses control, and the strength path giant hands squash him into meat paste. ^{ch. 867}

Zhou Zhong cannot exact revenge. If Zheng Ling were still alive and collaborated with Zhou Zhong, they would suppress Fang Yuan and Tai Bai Yun Sheng. The two have deep foundations, few Immortal Gu, and many deduced immortal killer moves covering attack, defense, movement, healing, and investigation. ^{ch. 868}

Because Fang Yuan used poison path and strength path killer moves, only the body perished. The soul is preserved. Fang Yuan stores it in his immortal aperture on the spot. After a first soul search the soul floats listless and weak in Dang Hun palace. As leader of Sacred Feather City he holds secrets, immortal killer moves, and immortal Gu recipes. From this search Fang Yuan learns the clan lives in Western Desert, in a fragment world of green heaven. ^{ch. 870}

Fang Yuan keeps searching the soul. Zheng Ling is a wind path Gu Immortal. The yields are not suited to Fang Yuan’s strength path or star path. The soul is still not completely searched. ^{ch. 887}

After further searches Fang Yuan obtains a complete wind path inheritance from the soul, the immortal killer move heavenly wish, and information on Sacred Feather City and the green heaven fragment world the feathermen lived in. The soul also holds memories of dealing with battlefield killer moves from a wind path angle. ^{ch. 903}

In the green heaven fragment world, while the first supreme elder fights inside a wall gap, Zheng Ling is the last of the three featherman Gu Immortals still controlling Sacred Feather City, repairing the hole. The first supreme elder praises the work. When White Sea Shatuo reveals rank eight and surrounds the first supreme elder, Zheng Ling is extremely anxious and drives the house harder. Zhou Zhong, now Fang Yuan’s slave, tells him to reinforce the first supreme elder and takes control of the house. Zheng Ling is joyous, checks Zhou Zhong’s injuries, then nods and turns into a bolt of lightning as he leaves. ^{ch. 977}

From the soul Fang Yuan already knows this defense. In a previous life he laid a trap that made the feathermen suicide and obtained only this soul, whose memories of the defense were still clear. Zheng Ling reinforces the first supreme elder and fights White Sea Shatuo and the rest. White Sea Shatuo’s group is beaten back. The first supreme elder is on the verge of death. Zheng Ling’s situation is slightly better. After the first supreme elder dies, the two remaining immortals hold for a night, abandon the house, and use heavenly wish. They land in a human Gu Immortal’s blessed land as an earthly calamity. Facing Fairy Li Shan, Hei Lou Lan, and Tai Bai Yun Sheng together, Zheng Ling’s heart sinks. Fang Yuan later sells Zheng Ling’s soul to Lang Ya land spirit among other Gu Immortal souls. ^{ch. 1199}
