Slavery Immortal Gu
In a green heaven fragment world within Western Desert, Sacred Feather City, a pure white city radiant with faint gold, is the strongest headquarters of the feathermen, a fading race of variant humans. The feathermen have just crowned Yu Fei king, an ordinary citizen who beat the favored prince Dan Yu. Amid the celebration a powerful attack shakes the whole city, and above it a huge crack splits the green sky as invaders descend. The city’s long peace has left its defenses very lax, and the three featherman Gu Immortals who rally cannot organize in time. The invaders’ leader, White Sea Shatuo, refuses their attempt to negotiate. He orders his Western Desert Gu Immortals to attack, and the outmatched featherman immortals fall back inside the Immortal Gu House to defend, their best chance to escape already lost. ch. 977
The Western Desert immortals besiege Sacred Feather City from every side, and White Sea Shatuo’s methods immobilize it so it cannot break free quickly. Two days in, a bolt of lightning breaches a section of the wall. It kills the Gu worms forming that section and the Gu Masters posted there, opening a hole that could destroy the whole Immortal Gu House if the enemy enlarges it. Zhou Zhong, a featherman Gu Immortal whose eyes have gone bloodshot after two days of battle, rushes to guard the hole, buying time for the House to repair itself. ch. 977
Two Western Desert Gu Immortals ambush him there and beat him near death, and a third outside the city binds him with an immortal killer move so he cannot budge. Their next blow sends him crashing motionless onto a pile of rubble. The first supreme elder, the city’s strongest at nearly peak rank seven, arrives and drives back the two attackers, now badly hurt, to the hole. Zheng Ling, the last featherman Gu Immortal still controlling the House, repairs the hole to eighty percent closed and shrinking. The two attackers are trapped inside, with no time to enlarge the hole. ch. 977
The retreat was bait: four more Western Desert Gu Immortals appear beside the first supreme elder, led by White Sea Shatuo, whose aura erupts to reveal rank eight cultivation. The elder pales, his one moment of carelessness having put him in mortal danger. Zheng Ling, extremely anxious, drives the Immortal Gu House harder while the two sides converge on this one crucial battlefield. Someone wearing Yu Fei’s face rushes to the fallen Zhou Zhong, who takes him for the new king and warns him by voice transmission to flee. The figure insists on saving him and activates mortal Gu, useless on wounds carrying the dao marks of immortal killer moves, and only then do Zhou Zhong’s protruding eyes see through the face before his cry is sealed. It is Fang Yuan, who slipped in from Northern Plains through the hole’s weakened control using Fixed Immortal Travel and took Yu Fei’s face before approaching. Amid the battle’s distraction, he secretly activates slavery Immortal Gu on Zhou Zhong. ch. 977
Zhou Zhong resists intensely. His resistance suddenly gives way, and he becomes Fang Yuan’s slave. Completely exhausted, Fang Yuan orders him to take control of the entire Immortal Gu House from Zheng Ling. Zhou Zhong, badly injured, obeys, flying to the House’s center and telling Zheng Ling to go reinforce the first supreme elder instead. Zheng Ling is joyous, since the immobilized House cannot show its true power and he would rather reinforce the elder in person. He checks on Zhou Zhong’s injuries, then turns into a bolt of lightning and leaves. ch. 977
