Ice poison starfish
When Ren Xiu Ping tries to assassinate Miao Ming Shen with an ice poison starfish, Gui Qi Ye blocks the fatal attack, falls unconscious under purple poison, and is later cleansed with underworld yellow water. After waking he urges Miao Ming Shen to invite carefully chosen reinforcements to explore the blue dragon whale rather than wait for Ren Xiu Ping to gather more people. ch. 1648

Miao Ming Shen lists him among the eight on the trip and among those he trusts most with Feng Jiang and Immortal Hua Die. ch. 1650
