Empowered by his Seven Star Light killer move, he activates Star Thought Gu and raises tens of thousands of star thoughts into a star cloud that he hurls at Hei Lou Lan. Star thoughts move very fast, strike the enemy’s mind from any direction, and are hard to guard against; weak willpower can leave victims idiotic, and most struck Gu Masters feel dizzy and lose footing. Fang Yuan’s third soul search yields Dong Fang Chang Fan’s wisdom path inheritance, which the narration says rests on star thought Gu and whose recipe refines them with starlight Gu as the main material. He tells Little Hu Immortal to switch the second stone nest from malicious thought Gu to star thought Gu. He hands her the recipe. ^{ch. 809}

Fairy Li Shan brings Fang Yuan over fifty thousand star thought Gu in return for the location of Dong Fang Chang Fan’s blessed land. The text calls them ordinary star thought mortal Gu and states no rank number for them. He cannot hide his joy at the count. ^{ch. 814}

Star thought Gu is a one time consumable Gu, and each one spent speeds the thoughts in Fang Yuan’s mind. One deduction of about three days, which fuses pulling mountain Immortal Gu into his killer move myriad self, takes the stock from fifty thousand to about forty thousand. He judges star thought Gu really durable, since one star thought stands in for three to four malicious or memory thoughts. The durability holds for deduction only: malicious thought Gu serve plotting better, and memory thought Gu serve recollection better. ^{ch. 817}

After the earthly calamity, Fang Yuan sets two of his three stone nests to refining mortal star thought Gu and leaves one on airsac Gu. He tells Hei Lou Lan that refining star thought Gu is much milder and kills fewer hairy men. ^{ch. 825}

Having starlight Immortal Gu, Fang Yuan can refine star thought Gu much faster and on a much larger scale, copying how strength qi Immortal Gu is used to refine airsac Gu. Starlight Immortal Gu removes the step of buying starlight mortal Gu, a necessary material, and lowers both the failure rate and the deaths among hairy men. It costs immortal essence, and the star thought Gu recipe must be modified for it. ^{ch. 852} Standing on a stone nest, Fang Yuan activates starlight Immortal Gu, and a starlight pillar shoots down into the nest. The light dissolves into rays drawn to the first room of every level, and a hairy man in each room carries the work on through seven rooms until star thought Gu are finished. One activation gives the hairy men eight to nine days of work without rest. Sixty percent of the rooms in that nest stand empty, and he judges that with enough hairy men its output of star thought Gu could double. ^{ch. 862}
