Chapter 1375

The upper extreme heavenly eagle carries Fang Yuan, Ying Wu Xie and the rest off the battlefield, leaving every Southern Border righteous Gu Immortal present stunned. No one suspects Fang Yuan, since he had recently helped save the formation from the mole Ba Quan Feng’s sabotage. Chi Gui privately feels grateful to Wu Yi Hai for having taken his place. Weighing Shadow Sect’s departure, Spectral Soul’s capture by Duke Long, and Heavenly Court’s uncertain stance after its earlier defeat in Northern Plains, Ba De judges that Southern Border’s forces have no strength left to bargain without the super Gu formation. He orders retreat. When Chi Gui protests that retreating abandons their Immortal Gu and dream realms, Ba De tells him to do as he likes, and leaves. Wu clan and Qiao clan take a huge blow at the news, most Southern Border Gu Immortals copy Ba De in pulling back, and Qiao Si Liu leaves with Qiao clan’s immortals believing Wu Yi Hai still lives. Contacting Duke Long, she finds him shaken by Spectral Soul’s remnant soul, which used the Door of Life and Death’s power to try to devour his soul the moment he moved it into his phantom aperture. He orders an immediate return to Heavenly Court to have it separated and suppressed. Duke Long dismisses concern over Zuo Ye Hui and Southern Border’s forces, but presses Fairy Zi Wei on Fang Yuan. Southern Border’s reinforcements reach the ruined Yi Tian Mountain. They find the super Gu formation gone and dream realms scattered like a range of mountains. Many of their Immortal Gu are already taken by Heavenly Court, after Fairy Zi Wei broke the formation down. Duke Long and Fairy Zi Wei retreat through Heaven Overseeing Tower to white heaven, pursued by Zuo Ye Hui. More and more Southern Border Gu Immortals gather, a scale seldom seen even once across a hundred years.
