After Wu Du Xiu dies, Qiao clan’s first supreme elder treats Wu clan unrest as a chance, saying outsiders think Qiao clan is Wu clan’s lackey while the clan was only trying to survive, and that long term marriage alliances give Qiao clan better reasons to act than other clans. He keeps the marriage alliance line going and points Qiao Si Liu, one of Southern Border’s three great fairies, at Wu Yi Hai rather than Wu Yong. At Wu Du Xiu’s funeral he announces that Wu Yi Hai survived and arrived with Qiao clan’s help. ^{ch. 1218}

Narration lists Qiao clan among the super forces holding close relations with Wu clan. ^{ch. 1313} At Qiao Si Liu’s moon festival, narration also calls Qiao clan a righteous path super force. ^{ch. 1316}

At Qiao Si Liu’s moon festival she brings out bewitching tea for her guests, and narration states that bewitching tea is Qiao clan’s signature tea, multiple grades higher than the willow spiral tea that is only Qiao Si Liu’s own creation. ^{ch. 1317}

After a moon appreciation festival, Qiao clan’s first supreme elder drinks bewitching tea and tells Qiao Si Liu that Qiao clan has long been allies with Wu clan without penetrating Wu clan’s core, and that Wu Yi Hai is a huge opportunity for that deeper tie. ^{ch. 1320}

Rumors spread that Wu clan’s Wu Yi Hai and Qiao Si Liu are very close and often travel to scenic spots together. Qiao Si Liu’s other pursuers are indignant and still grant that Wu clan’s and Qiao clan’s relations alone give Wu Yi Hai an enormous advantage. ^{ch. 1321}

Southern Border’s righteous path has thirteen super clans, and Qiao clan is named among them with Wu, Ba, Shang, Tie, Hou, Luo, Chai, Xia, Yi, Chi, Yang, and Yao. ^{ch. 1610}
