Dream path remains largely unexplored in this era, and even the super forces researching it have gained little. Fang Yuan’s unravel dream makes him a leading figure of the five regions. Ying Wu Xie’s lead soul into dream, an ability ahead of its time, struck hard at the battle of Yi Tian Mountain, hurting the Heavenly Court Gu Immortals there. Word spreads that the encircling righteous path Gu Immortals cannot excavate the treasures either, and have lost many members, among them rank seven experts of great authority and Luo clan’s third supreme elder. Fang Yuan deduces the rest himself. The righteous path cannot risk exploring the realm itself, so it drains demonic path and lone cultivators’ resources through the business instead, risking none of its own people. ch. 1214
The righteous path must have reached a consensus behind this business, and Fang Yuan judges that at least six or seven clans back Lady White Rabbit’s mortal Gu House. He needs long access to the realm and an identity that lets him stay. A visit or two would cost him heavily and gain him little. ch. 1214
Unraveling the dream realm himself would shrink it and risk exposing him. Killing a righteous Gu Immortal and taking their place with familiar face fails too. Clan tracking Gu such as life tablet Gu, soul lantern Gu and blood rope Gu would expose the death at once, and Fang Yuan’s weak information path could not fool them. ch. 1214
Even a forced assault at rank eight offers no guarantee, since Southern Border’s other rank eight Gu Immortals would still encircle him. No plan satisfies him. Fang Yuan returns to the mortal Gu House and tells Fairy White Rabbit he is only a secluded wanderer, so the price would cost him nearly all his assets. Instead he hands her a rank six immortal material, and she gives him an information path mortal Gu to talk through Southern Border’s situation. ch. 1214
At the formation, a Qiao clan Gu Immortal leads Fairy Miao Yin inside again. He is fawning despite being righteous path himself. Though of the demonic path, she is extremely beautiful and extremely affluent from an inherited blessed land, publicly known as one of Southern Border’s three great fairies. Watching, Ba clan’s Ba Quan Feng complains that Qiao clan’s Gu Immortals are unrestrained and very greedy, unlike Luo clan’s two, who bring people of clean reputation. He adds that this same Miao Yin once destroyed two of Ba clan’s resource points and injured four Ba clan Gu Immortals who gave chase. ch. 1214
Beside him stands Old Treeman Ba De. He is thousands of years old, stuck at the final step before rank eight, his battle strength rank seven at its peak, and publicly recognized as the strongest under rank eight in Southern Border. Ba De calms him: Qiao clan, though weak and at the bottom of the righteous forces, is backed by Wu clan through marriage alliances running tens of thousands of years. Ba Quan Feng still calls Qiao clan a dog raised by Wu clan. Wu clan, with two rank eight Gu Immortals, has drawn six other clans into this dream realm business, leaving six clans out, Ba clan among them, even though the formation used every clan’s Immortal Gu. ch. 1214
Ba Quan Feng resents the exclusion, and objects that Ba clan’s single rank eight cannot stop Wu clan’s two. Ba De explains that staying out is deliberate: the dream realm cannot be explored yet, and Ba clan’s hold over the participants buys a larger share when the clans later argue over the true treasure. He grants that Ba clan cannot stop Wu clan, but points to other clans. But Ba De reveals that Wu clan’s first supreme elder is close to death, her lifespan exhausted by extension methods taken in her youth that leave lifespan Gu useless to her now. Her death, he predicts, will throw Southern Border into unrest and give the other clans a chance to strike. ch. 1214
