Half a month later she summons Wu Yong and other supreme elders and speaks with clarity of three regrets in life, the last of them that she never got to see her son Yi Hai. Telling Wu Yong that Yi Hai was unable to come and that this is fate, she hands her Immortal Gu to him instead, saying he cultivates wind path as well and asking him to cherish them, and the transfer is smooth. Narration calls her the reputable and powerful rank eight Gu Immortal who had influenced Southern Border for thousands of years as she vanishes from the world, leaving behind neither body nor soul. Wu clan elders then pay respects to Wu Yong as the new first supreme elder. Outside forces sigh in relief, and Qiao clan’s first supreme elder treats the succession as a marriage-alliance opportunity. Wu clan had held two rank eight Gu Immortals; with her gone only Wu Yong remained, and observers wondered whether the clan could still stand as Southern Border’s top righteous power. ^{ch. 1218}

Her death leaves Wu clan in chaos just as Wu Yong takes over and has to steady it, so pursuit of the force that saved Immortal Yan Huang stalls and gives him time to recover. ^{ch. 1303}

During her time as first supreme elder, Wu clan deliberately expanded its territory to take in Mount Snail, an immemorial desolate beast whose enslavement and earth path dao marks make it a resource site. ^{ch. 1315}

Before she died, Wu Du Xiu’s last wish was to give her Immortal Gu to Wu Yi Hai, and that unmet wish is already the seed of Wu Yong’s wariness toward his half-brother. ^{ch. 1322}

Under Purple Mountain True Monarch’s taunt, Wu Yong is pressed to use the two rank eight Immortal Gu his mother left him. ^{ch. 1341} Those two Immortal Gu are wind path, and they are already built into an Immortal Gu House his mother constructed, Clear Jade Dripping Wind Tiny Bamboo Building, rather than kept as separate killer moves. ^{ch. 1344}
