Chi Gui

Hearing that Chi Shang wants to publicly break with Fang Yuan over Qiao Si Liu, Chi Gui worries that escalating a personal quarrel would turn it into a political matter between Wu clan and Chi clan, and advises Chi Shang to keep the dispute private and tell Fairy Si Liu of it so she can witness Wu Yi Hai’s challenge. ^{ch. 1329}

Inside the super Gu formation he fears conflict between Fang Yuan and Chi Shang will escalate, so he reports the incident to Chi Qu You and later brings Chi Shang an information path Immortal Gu under first supreme elder’s instruction. Chi Shang addresses him as supreme elder Chi Gui. ^{ch. 1330}

When attackers strike from inside the formation, he is the Chi clan leader who finds the problem and informs the righteous path Gu Immortals. He raises morale by saying the Chi clan ancestor prepared four layers of formations inside formations, then is shocked when the enemy finds the formation core. ^{ch. 1349} He tells the hall to move into the next layer after the outermost fourth layer breaks, presses that Chi Qu You set up the formation, and calls for time while he activates the second layer. ^{ch. 1350}

As a rank seven formation path Gu Immortal he coughs blood when an earth path Immortal Gu that is a main pillar breaks while he tries to activate the second layer. He endures the collapsing formation’s backlash to keep it from being destroyed, then shouts for any earth path Immortal Gu as a replacement so the linked first layer can activate. ^{ch. 1352}

While he focuses on the formation, Ba Quan Feng strikes him unguarded. He is heavily injured, purple-gold in the face, with blood from his seven orifices, and also suffers backlash when activation fails. Ba Quan Feng is only rank six wind path, while Chi Gui is rank seven formation path, yet the unguarded hit lands. ^{ch. 1355} Near death he tells Ba De that Wu Yi Hai still has formation path quasi-grandmaster attainment Chi Shang praised, and asks that Wu Yi Hai be let in. He then gives Fang Yuan an information path mortal Gu holding the formation details and faints before finishing the briefing. ^{ch. 1356}

Before fainting he lends the entire Gu formation to Fang Yuan, making Fang Yuan the user. After waking he is glad Wu Yi Hai saved them, then explains that the first and second layers can only be controlled by one person, so even he cannot take control back unless Wu Yi Hai transfers ownership. Fang Yuan tells him to heal instead. ^{ch. 1357}

Chi Gui’s information path Gu worm is how Fang Yuan learns that the super Gu formation’s first layer can only be used by a Chi clan Gu Immortal. ^{ch. 1362}

Old Treeman comes to his side when something seems off. Chi Gui inspects the formation he cannot control and reports that Wu Yi Hai is missing while two rank eight auras, one Central Continent and one Northern Plains, forcibly fight over the whole super Gu formation. When Ba De orders retreat, Chi Gui argues that Immortal Gu and dream realms will be lost, then stays with Wu Liao and a few others who choose to trust Heavenly Court. ^{ch. 1375}
