Wu Liao

Among Wu clan Gu Immortals he seems young yet is very conservative and strict with rules, and he has always objected intensely to Wu clan doing the immortal opportunity business. Wu An cannot rely on him for that scheme and earlier failed to bribe him. When Wu An sends Lady White Rabbit to seduce Wu Yi Hai, Wu Liao arrives outside the door, standing straight like a spear, and says he is here to tell lord everything, wanting Wu Yi Hai to know the schemes and ill intentions. Clan Gu Immortals know that personality well. ^{ch. 1224}

He ignores Wu An, bows toward the door, and shouts that Wu An has ill intentions and that he seeks an audience to report him. Fang Yuan controls two crucial Immortal Gu and hears everything in Wu clan’s formation territory, yet keeps the door shut. Wu Liao is stunned, then pales when Lady White Rabbit emerges wearing jade ball earrings that Southern Border custom treats as a married woman’s sign. He leaves angrily after Wu An looks smug. ^{ch. 1225}

He later reports matters, but Fang Yuan leaves the work to subordinates and says not to bother him unless there are major matters. Wu Liao is extremely disappointed, thinks Fang Yuan matches the previous rank seven’s hands-off style, and turns cold toward him. ^{ch. 1232}

At the banquet welcoming Chi Shang, Wu Liao and Wu An are cast aside and taunted by the other clans’ Gu Immortals; aggrieved, they ask for an audience with Fang Yuan afterward. ^{ch. 1327}

When Lady White Rabbit kills Wu An in the dream formation fighting, Wu Liao attacks with bloodshot eyes to avenge him. Narration restates he is only rank six and can do nothing to her, instead putting his own life in danger until Fang Yuan blocks him. ^{ch. 1351}

When most of Southern Border’s Gu Immortals imitate Ba De and retreat after Wu Yi Hai is reported missing, Wu Liao does not leave; narration sets Wu Yi Hai as Wu Yong’s brother, now missing with his whereabouts unknown, and asks how a Wu clan Gu Immortal could retreat easily. He stays behind alongside Chi Gui and a few other Gu Immortals, who choose to put their trust in Heavenly Court as the leader of Central Continent’s righteous path. ^{ch. 1375}
