White Rabbit's Seduction (1/2)
Lady White Rabbit kneels before Fang Yuan and greets him as Lord Wu Yi Hai, wrapped in a white fur coat that bares much of her skin, with rabbit like ears and eyes red as rubies. Her beauty is inferior only to Shang Xin Ci and Feng Jin Huang. Her nose is small, her lips pink, her skin snow white, and her busty figure reaches only to Fang Yuan’s chest. Fang Yuan is startled, since he had once traded her cultivation resources for information and did not expect her to kneel before him now, offering herself entirely. He reasons this is a seduction, that Wu An lied about an important report to arrange the meeting, his own days in seclusion having made Wu An anxious enough to try an old but very effective method. Rising and walking slowly toward her, he notes she is trembling. He judges from five hundred years of cultivation that she is a genuine lone cultivator offering her body for the first time. ch. 1224
Her heart pounds, and calm is beyond her. She is ashamed and disbelieving at herself for trying to seduce a man she has never met. Before this she was a pure lone cultivator who would have fought anyone predicting this. She recalls how it began: Wu An came to her with a promise of great fortune, and though wary at first that he meant to cheat her, she became the trusted middleman between demonic path and lone Gu Immortals in the immortal opportunity business. She took a cut of every transaction until her wealth quickly matched decades of her own accumulation. ch. 1224
The business unraveled when Wu Du Xiu died and her illegitimate Eastern Sea son survived an ambush to become the new person in charge of Wu clan’s share of the super Gu formation. It could not survive exposure. With the previous rank seven Gu Immortal gone, Wu An and the others could not run it without a strong backer, since only seven clans had ever taken part, Ba clan, Tie clan and Shang clan never among them. Fang Yuan’s seclusion left Wu An and the others with him extremely anxious, and unwilling to give up the business, they pushed him to draw Fang Yuan in. Wu Liao, the only other option, was young but conservative and strict, and had always objected intensely to the business. ch. 1224
When demonic path and lone cultivators could no longer enter the dream realm and found no righteous path Gu Immortal to answer them, they suspected the righteous path of cheating them of their due. Gu Immortals surrounded Lady White Rabbit’s mortal Gu House, shouting threats and demanding answers. She realized failure would leave her not just without a future but torn apart by these wolves, and forced by the danger, she let Wu An talk her into this meeting. Fang Yuan orders her to raise her head, then to stand, and she obeys as though wooden. Stepping forward on Wu An’s instruction, she embraces him and asks, stammering with shame, that he force himself on her, her only guide in such matters Wu An’s own coaching. ch. 1224
Outside, Wu An paces, dreading that Fang Yuan will refuse and expose the scheme. This is very possible, since Wu Yi Hai is young and newly joined and still needs to prove himself, and his brother Wu Yong leaves him no shortage of resources, so reputation matters to him more than benefit for now. Exposure would ruin Lady White Rabbit, driving her from lone cultivator to hunted demonic path, and strip Wu An of his gains and standing in the clan. Wu Liao arrives with a soldier’s bearing and tells Wu An that he means to report to their lord that someone shameless tried to seduce him into a grave mistake. Enraged, Wu An points at him, having already tried and failed to bribe him with no small sum. Wu Liao refused it not for its size but out of personality, and his refusal to be bought is known throughout Wu clan. ch. 1224
