Chapter 1357

Ba De recovers from his stupor as Fang Yuan takes control of the super Gu formation’s second layer. Chi Gui had lent him the entire formation before fainting, making Fang Yuan its sole user. Fang Yuan warns the righteous path Gu Immortals to keep their distance, promising to expel anyone who approaches as a traitor. Ba De backs him, telling the group that traitor Ba Quan Feng’s attack caused Chi Gui’s collapse. Ba De takes over the aftermath, leaves rousing Chi Gui to the others, and has Ba Quan Feng interrogated. The Gu Immortals realize that without Fang Yuan’s rescue the second layer would never have formed, and they are glad of it. Even so, they grow warier of each other. ^{ch. 1357}

Zuo Ye Hui gathers its aura and fires grey night, a dark grey beam, at the formation’s second layer. Fang Yuan’s reinforced defense fuses four colors, including a dark path Immortal Gu, into one shield. There is no explosion; the impact is completely silent, and the formation wins the contest. The dream realm itself is untouched, and with the third and fourth layers gone the formation can no longer hide it and now covers only part of it. The righteous path Gu Immortals cheer Fang Yuan as their savior. Chi Gui wakes and thanks him, while Qiao Si Liu, once cold toward him, feels her heart pound. ^{ch. 1357}

Purple Mountain True Monarch, concealed at the dream realm’s edge, had expected the formation to break and planned to strike then. Instead he activates a dream path immortal killer move that condenses large stretches of the dream realm into cocoons of light. The righteous path Gu Immortals panic until Fang Yuan announces the move targets the dream realm, not them. A Xia clan Gu Immortal accuses Fang Yuan of provoking the attack through the immortal opportunity business. Fang Yuan teleports him outside the formation as punishment. He does the same to a second Xia clan Immortal who protests. ^{ch. 1357}

Ba De warns that every super clan’s Immortal Gu built this formation. Fang Yuan answers that none of them can recall their worms anymore, the connection already lost. Chi Gui explains that Chi Qu You designed the first and second layers so only one controller could hold them, guarding against betrayal from inside. ^{ch. 1357}

Even Chi Gui cannot retake control unless Wu Yi Hai transfers it back. Fang Yuan refuses, telling him to heal instead, and the righteous path Gu Immortals realize they are entirely at his mercy. Qiao Si Liu and the others close to Wu clan stay calm, but in Ba clan, Yao clan, Yang clan and others, Gu Immortals already at odds with Wu clan show very ugly expressions. Some of them inwardly curse Chi Qu You, whose design had quietly stripped the super clans under the cover of protecting the dream realm, and which now costs Chi clan its own control to an outsider.
