Blood Drain
The golden light completely absorbs into the fire staff and gathers at its head into a spear: immortal killer move golden sun spear activates, the staff now a short crimson-golden weapon. Zhao Pu names his killer move Blood Drain, already active by a different method. He does not cast Blood Drain outright, since her vigilance would certainly catch it, and instead splits the move into parts released through the fight, the whole effect arriving after the last one. Yu Yi Ye Zi asks in shock whether this is the rumored split move. Zhao Lian Yun realizes Zhao Pu had been secretly plotting behind his failed strikes on her chains all along. Blood now runs from her nose and ears as well, and traces of it in her eyes blur her sight. ch. 1263
In her agitation she throws the golden sun spear at him. Already extremely vigilant, he dodges before her shoulder finishes moving, and the spear, extremely fast, only brushes past him, exploding outside into a small sun that soon vanishes completely. Zhao Pu, soaked in cold sweat at the thought of a direct hit, is relieved they had already been struck by his own move first. Yu Yi Ye Zi walks over to fight beside her. Her morale drops sharply at wasting golden sun spear, a valuable advantage, since she has very little real battle experience and is easily shaken. ch. 1263
Zhao Pu explains that once his move strikes, no normal method undoes it unless he personally cancels it, and offers mercy: kneel, surrender their Immortal Gu, and live as his slaves. Zhao Lian Yun refuses. Zhao Pu tells her the battle is already decided. Yu Yi Ye Zi, a genius refinement path Gu Immortal, works out from his own wounds and Zhao Pu’s conduct that killing Zhao Pu will heal both of them. He transmits this to Zhao Lian Yun: they must kill Zhao Pu before their blood drains away, or die. ch. 1263
With no other option, both charge, and Zhao Pu meets them, boasting he will show these conceited brats his true strength. Neither side yields. The life locking silver chain’s chains shuttle around Zhao Pu as he dodges some and spits blood at others, turning them into a pool of blood. Yu Yi Ye Zi seizes the chance, opening the third gate of Eight Refinement Gates to strike Zhao Pu’s back with two palm silhouettes at incredible speed. Zhao Pu gives a muffled groan as blood splashes from his back and covers his injuries, surprised the boy’s attack has grown stronger. Given time Yu Yi Ye Zi can aim at an opponent’s weaknesses, and Eight Refinement Gates shifts with the situation to bring out properties that work against that enemy. Knowing they cannot retreat, both Gu Immortals burst out with remarkable battle strength. ch. 1263
