Yu Yi Ye Zi

On the tenth snowy peak he has been fighting Zhao Pu until Zhao Lian Yun arrives and steps forward to take over. After taking heavy damage he looks as if pulled from a sea of blood, retreats to the hall’s edge, and keeps healing while Zhao Pu’s blood and sound methods press them. ^{ch. 1262}

He recognizes the split move as soon as Zhao Pu says he had already activated it and only changed its method, and Zhao Pu tells him he is knowledgeable. Unable to heal while the move holds, he deduces from his own injuries and Zhao Pu’s behaviour that killing Zhao Pu will heal them, and tells Zhao Lian Yun they must kill him before their blood runs out. His immortal killer move is Eight Refinement Gates, which changes with the situation to bring out properties effective against the enemy, and he opens its third gate, the hand gate, to strike Zhao Pu’s back from afar. ^{ch. 1263}

He is the first of the two to weaken in the fight: struck by Zhao Pu much earlier than Zhao Lian Yun and suffering far greater injuries, he falls unconscious from the blood loss. ^{ch. 1264}

Seeing Zhao Lian Yun choose to go on aged and weakened, he reflects that he would have died in Zhao Pu’s hands without her and resolves to follow her, at worst paying his life for it. He warns her first that love Immortal Gu is powerful but unstable and may take her lifespan again, and that she would die if it did. ^{ch. 1266}

Watching Fang Yuan press on through Reverse Flow River giving off a strange, incomplete Gu worm aura, Yu Yi Ye Zi guesses the truth ahead of the other Gu Immortals and says the situation shows Fang Yuan is refining a Gu. ^{ch. 1285}
