He warns that the senior’s life force is dwindling and that without a cure the man will die in minutes. At the crucial moment he decides to charge ahead with Edge Link Camp and tells the rest to follow. The three Immortal Gu Houses enter the star cloud storm. Myriad Tidal Dragon is sleeping. After Wind Sweeping Building is knocked away, his call to Bi Chen Tian breaks up. He cannot stay behind or reinforce Bi Chen Tian, because Canary Pavilion around him also needs to be taken care of. ^{ch. 1245}

Canary Pavilion and Edge Link Camp are both at the ambush, surrounded and heavily damaged. Leaving Bi Chen Tian to hold Edge Link Camp, Wei Ling Yang slips out alone to try each snowy peak, confident he can manage it because rule path gives him a great advantage there, one Old Ancestor Xue Hu, though stronger than him, cannot match. ^{ch. 1268}

During the Snowy Mountain blessed land assault, Old Ancestor Xue Hu freezes Wei Ling Yang’s right hand without Wei Ling Yang noticing the strike. Several methods fail to improve it and he settles for sealing the hand. By the time he charges out of Edge Link Camp again the injury is fully healed, which marks very high attainment in healing. ^{ch. 1269}

After Mu Ling Lan dies holding Old Ancestor Xue Hu back so Ma Hong Yun and Zhao Lian Yun can escape, Wei Ling Yang calls out that Central Continent and Heavenly Court will remember the sacrifice and charges at Old Ancestor Xue Hu. ^{ch. 1279}

Once Old Ancestor Xue Hu withdraws from Reverse Flow River to save his unconscious wife, fifth place among those still swimming upstream passes to Heavenly Court’s rank eight rule path Gu Immortal Wei Ling Yang and the Central Continent Gu Immortals with him. ^{ch. 1280}

Of the Central Continent Gu Immortals, Wei Ling Yang alone lasts until only he, Ma Hong Yun and Zhao Lian Yun, Ying Wu Xie’s group, and Fang Yuan remain in Reverse Flow River, but he too reaches his limit and is washed away against his will. ^{ch. 1281}

As Fang Yuan, known in Northern Plains as Liu Guan Yi, closes on Ma Hong Yun and Zhao Lian Yun, Wei Ling Yang speaks for Central Continent’s ten great sects and for Heavenly Court, and offers him a place in Central Continent if he protects the pair, with his immortal aperture modified so that he can adapt to Central Continent’s heaven and earth qi. ^{ch. 1283}

News of the Northern Plains expedition says that of the three rank eight Gu Immortals Wei Ling Yang, Myriad Tidal Dragon, and Bi Chen Tian, two died and one went missing. Zhao Lian Yun, Yu Yi Ye Zi, Shi Zheng Yi, and the rest were saved by Wei Ling Yang risking his life, and escaped under Central Continent reinforcements.
