A large group of dark venomous snakes flies out of the black clouds with a hiss and attacks the three Immortal Gu Houses as they cross black heaven. The snakes are all desolate beast level, while the king snake is an ancient desolate beast. Wei Ling Yang is surprised, since at that distance the houses should not be in the territory of the dark venomous snake group. ch. 1241
Wei Ling Yang decides to retreat to preserve battle strength for the long journey ahead. Myriad Tidal Dragon replies that retreating will not be easy against dark venomous snakes. Dark venomous snakes hold grudges and, once they lock onto prey, will not give up. The three Immortal Gu Houses fly rapidly, yet the snake group still trails behind them, and more and more dark venomous snakes emerge from the black clouds. Some of the Gu Immortals say the dark venomous snakes have poison path dao marks and that their snake guts are the best immortal material for refining healing Immortal Gu, and they argue for a fight, but the three rank eight Gu Immortals keep escaping. The Central Continent group’s trip through black heaven is relatively smooth yet still runs into trouble from the dark venomous snake group among others, while South Desolation Immortal and Yao Huang, crossing the same heaven, meet no trouble at all. ch. 1242

A soul beast army chases the three Immortal Gu Houses for six hours before giving up when its attention is drawn to a group of dark venomous snakes. ch. 1244
