Chapter 1244

Outside the three Immortal Gu Houses, nether ant Gu approach in a massive army whose joined auras carry many ancient and immemorial soul beasts and wild Immortal Gu. The three rank eight Gu Immortals confer secretly. Their run of bad luck feels too suspicious to be natural. Bi Chen Tian complains that souls have stayed in the world since Red Lotus Demon Venerable damaged fate Gu, and that soul beasts appeared after Spectral Soul Demon Venerable ascended. Myriad Tidal Dragon answers that most immortal zombies died at the battle of Yi Tian Mountain, drastically easing the refinement of fate Immortal Gu, and that Granny Sha is making huge progress on it even without success dao marks from Infallible blessed land. ^{ch. 1244}

Wei Ling Yang says they must escape, and Myriad Tidal Dragon offers dragon flow escape, which must carry him, the three Houses, and many Gu Immortals, and will leave him unable to fight for three days. Myriad Tidal Dragon had first named Ghostly Concealment as the better answer, Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable’s method paired with divine concealment, rumored to leave its holder undetected by soul beasts. The three agree. Countless dragon phantoms encircle the Houses and force an opening through the soul beast army, and after a six hour chase the beasts finally give up, drawn off by a group of dark venomous snakes. Spent and pale, Myriad Tidal Dragon says he needs seven days to recover, then falls into deep sleep as thickening fog cocoons him into a pale white dragon egg within two hours. The Gu Immortals cheer their escape, but Bi Chen Tian and Wei Ling Yang stay grim, since Myriad Tidal Dragon is down and the journey remains half finished. ^{ch. 1244}

Over the next two hours the Houses meet more beast groups before Bi Chen Tian finds a huge field of heaven attached fungi, and Wei Ling Yang chooses to rest there. Yu Yi Ye Zi explains that the rank six material grows only in the immemorial nine heavens and needs ground free of any foreign dao mark, so a field of it tells them the place is safe to rest. He leaves to collect some. Newly an immortal and ignorant of cultivation resources, Zhao Lian Yun is uninterested and thinks only of saving Ma Hong Yun, and she asks Bu Zhen Zi if he will go too. He answers that his duty is to protect her, so he will not leave her side. Zhao Lian Yun thanks him, and they talk of how even black heaven leaves a safe place, until his tone suddenly turns strange. ^{ch. 1244}

Blue starlight appears in the distance, and Bu Zhen Zi recognizes danger in its size before Bi Chen Tian’s warning and orders arrive. Gu Immortals rush back in a panic. Wei Ling Yang names the approaching mass a huge star cloud storm, with millions upon millions of stars flying, some island sized and some as large as a piece of land. The storm is a phenomenon unique to immemorial blue heaven, which shattered long ago and scattered stars into immemorial black heaven as well. Bi Chen Tian says it is the largest he has ever seen, and that the heaven attached fungi field now looks like a trap set to lure them into resting there. ^{ch. 1244}
