Fairy Cui Bo arrives to console Three Feather Boy after Fang Yuan’s threat, naming herself and claiming equal rank seven status with Fang Yuan. Fang Yuan tells her he intends to eat them both. His sovereign immortal body still carries a flaw, since he obtained only the rank nine sovereign immortal fetus Gu, snatched from Spectral Soul Demon Venerable, rather than a flawless rank ten. The flaw forces him to keep devouring immortal apertures at his own rank, a need he manages by annexing apertures while his own aperture’s time runs slow. Fairy Cui Bo and Three Feather Boy recognize their attackers as ten extreme immortals and as demonic fugitives, one a culprit behind the fall of Eighty-Eight True Yang Building, and they lose their morale and try to flee. Hei Lou Lan and Bai Ning Bing chase them out of the cave. Fang Yuan then weakens the sandstorm with a method he has been preparing, opens a path and enters alone while Fairy Miao Yin guards outside. ^{ch. 1394}

Inside stands Corpse City, a city of yellow clay that is in truth a huge mortal Gu House, once sited inside the earth path blessed land that was Western Desert Zombie Alliance’s branch base. Shadow Sect’s hundred thousand year plan cost the alliance nearly everything, so the branch discarded that blessed land, hid its resources in Corpse City, and moved the mortal Gu House beneath translocation desert behind a defensive Gu formation. Western Desert Gu Immortals plundered the emptied blessed land after the Battle of Yi Tian Mountain and, helped secretly by heaven’s will, traced the inheritance to translocation desert, whose shifting caves make the search hard for everyone but Fang Yuan, who leads Shadow Sect. Fang Yuan judges that meeting Fairy Cui Bo here was no accident. He suspects it was heaven’s will’s plot to make him oppose a rank eight the moment he entered Western Desert, and since he and his companions all carry investigative killer moves, he must relocate the inheritance quickly. He moves the entire Corpse City into his immortal aperture; it holds no Immortal Gu of its own, but its defensive Gu formation uses two Immortal Gu as its cores, one of them his main objective for the journey. ^{ch. 1394}
