Chapter 1363

Ying Wu Xie agrees to Fang Yuan’s proposed cooperation. His feelings toward Fang Yuan have shifted from the hatred that followed his loss at Yi Tian Mountain, through wariness and then fear when Fang Yuan chased them into Northern Plains, into admiration after the battle of Reverse Flow River. After that battle Fang Yuan could match rank eight Gu Immortals, and Ying Wu Xie grants that he accomplished what heaven’s will sent him back to do against Shadow Sect. Fang Yuan then orders the Xia clan Gu Immortal fighting Ying Wu Xie to retreat and aid a Yao clan Gu Immortal instead, and the Xia clan fighter obeys, though he is very unhappy about it. Fang Yuan says he has already helped, and Ying Wu Xie throws back the earlier denial and asks whether the retreating fighter is one of his subordinates, a question Fang Yuan leaves unanswered. Asked for Shadow Sect’s plan, Ying Wu Xie answers that their backup plan is himself. ^{ch. 1363}

Purple Mountain True Monarch flees while Duke Long, transformed with sharper dragon horns, claws, and scales, chases and demands he fight. Purple Mountain True Monarch shoots purple starlight specks from his fingers at Duke Long, and every speck that meets an immortal killer move feeds him fragments that combine to expose that move’s secrets. Duke Long ignores the specks and charges on behind his defense. This is the trap, since the information Purple Mountain True Monarch wants is on the defensive method that has been troubling him. With enough information gathered, Purple Mountain True Monarch answers with a mist killer move that costs Duke Long his sense of direction entirely, until a dragon roar clears it away. ^{ch. 1363}

Duke Long teleports beside Purple Mountain True Monarch and strikes him with bare fists again and again, but profound light flares at each hit and leaves him essentially unharmed. Duke Long then activates chaotic dragon fist, an immortal killer move meant to scramble an enemy’s thoughts. The effect is low. Duke Long finds that the confusion does not appear on Purple Mountain True Monarch at all. At his level Duke Long’s transformation path killer move already carries wisdom path effects, but used on a wisdom path Gu Immortal it is child’s play. Chaotic dragon fist kills Duke Long’s other enemies, yet against a wisdom path opponent it leaves him only the upper hand. ^{ch. 1363}

Purple Mountain True Monarch takes the punches without panic, holding methods that strip away his negative emotions in the middle of a battle, and studies Duke Long in turn. Purple Mountain True Monarch recalls that Duke Long cultivates qi path first and took up transformation path because his lifespan was lacking. He identifies two of Duke Long’s killer moves. One of them lets Duke Long teleport without pause, and the other sits in his dragon eyes with powerful investigative effects.
