Zhao Lian Yun's Death?
At the seventh peak, Bu Zhen Zi faces a demonic path Gu Immortal with fully black eyes and a skin like cloak. He recognizes him as Shadow King, who joined Snowy Mountain blessed land after the previous peak lord Xue Song Zi died. Snowy Mountain draws Northern Plains’ demonic path Gu Immortals, above all those wanted by Huang Jin tribes who need a backer like Xue Hu, though morale has dropped since he began refining fortune rivalling heaven Gu. Some may also have joined for Lady Wan Shou, hoping to prolong their lives. Shadow King laughs that the Central Continent group has truly come running into death. Bu Zhen Zi sneers that it is not certain who dies yet. Shadow King turns into a pitch black shadow and pounces, and muffled explosions shake the peak, rolling snow down in a small avalanche. ch. 1255
At the twelfth peak, Zhao Lian Yun and Shi Zheng Yi, not alone but also not with the rest of the group, are already fighting the peak lord Zhao Da Niu, who has transformed into a giant with a bull’s head and legs. He stomps fiercely, and both retreat. Zhao Lian Yun, with limited battle experience, feels the pressure keenly against a giant. Shi Zheng Yi barely dodges the bull leg and fires crimson sword light from his tongue, his vital sword tongue Gu, opening holes across the peak lord’s thick hide. Crying out in pain, the peak lord can only raise his arms to guard his head, all his momentum suppressed. Shi Zheng Yi answers that he cultivates information path rather than sword path, and his voice stays clear while his tongue keeps firing. Zhao Lian Yun gains a new respect for him, someone with thick eyebrows, large eyes, and somewhat lacking in brains. ch. 1255
Zhao Da Niu recovers and unleashes his qi path immortal killer move, rising heaven bull qi, an overwhelming aura that sends both immortals flying into the walls, badly injuring them. That single attack turns the fight around completely, and he boasts that the formation has amplified his battle strength to rank seven level. He leaps to crush Shi Zheng Yi beneath him. Zhao Lian Yun cries out in horror. But Shi Zheng Yi stands up from underneath him and pushes the giant away, an unimaginable feat that leaves even Zhao Da Niu in disbelief. Coughing blood, Shi Zheng Yi kneels, extremely tired, calling it the power of justice. ch. 1255
Zhao Da Niu charges again at incredible speed, and Shi Zheng Yi collides head on, only to be thrown far and collapse, coughing blood. As Zhao Da Niu steps up to finish Shi Zheng Yi off, a bright silver chain wraps the peak lord: Zhao Lian Yun’s immortal killer move, Life Locking Silver Chain, succeeding on her third attempt after the intense atmosphere spoiled two. Shi Zheng Yi’s stand had bought her the time she needed. Shi Zheng Yi thanks her. Continuing to speak heals his injuries, he explains, and the louder he shouts, the more powerful his next attack becomes. Zhao Da Niu cannot break the chains by strength alone, so he activates rising heaven bull qi again; the explosion blows the ceiling off and shatters the chain into silver fragments that dissolve, freeing him. ch. 1255
Both are struck by the air wave again and collapse, unable to stand. Zhao Lian Yun’s injuries are worse, since the forced break of her chain added backlash on top of Zhao Da Niu’s attack. Her rank nine love Immortal Gu has not activated once, uncontrollable and no guarantee it would even help if it did. She falls into a stupor, floating in boundless darkness, believing this is death. She thinks herself the greatest failure of a transmigrator in history, killed by an irrelevant side character, and is ready to let herself go down. ch. 1255
