Chapter 1337

In Southern Border’s giant dream realm, Fang Yuan recognizes the name Zuo Ye Hui, an immemorial desolate beast known since the Olden Antiquity Era. Zuo Ye Hui and You Tian Guang once ranked as the age’s twin terrors, human in shape but immune to extermination by Heavenly Court. Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable hunted them down: You Tian Guang died, and Zuo Ye Hui, heavily injured, escaped and vanished. Immemorial desolate beasts of Zuo Ye Hui’s kind surpass most rank eight Gu Immortals in strength. In the dream realm, Zuo Ye Hui devours a mountain of corpses with an immortal killer move that sucks bodies into its mouth, and Fang Yuan, too injured to outclimb the pull, is dragged in and eaten. Fang Yuan dies again and again, to the winds, to falling corpses, and once to the two beastman Gu Immortals watching over Zuo Ye Hui. Buried among the dead, he feels a Gu worm move against his chest and reasons that in so extreme an environment, a wild Gu might have formed there. He spends several deaths refining it and identifies it as a rank two offensive Gu worm. Despair sets in as the failures mount, but Fang Yuan will not give up: he has invested too much, and passing so unusual a dream realm would be a huge accumulation of experience. ^{ch. 1337}

On his final attempt, hidden among roughly sixty corpses, Fang Yuan finds Zuo Ye Hui trapped by a four elements Gu formation, its lower body buried in the ground. The beast breaks out with its immortal killer move grey night, a grey light that erases everything in the valley. The two beastman Gu Immortals flee. Fang Yuan cannot, and the light kills him along with the surrounding ground. He wakes regretting he had not given up sooner, his soul injury worse than any previous death, but finds his dark path attainment risen all at once to grandmaster. The dream realm has vanished: lasting until the end, not escaping the eating, was how it was passed, though Fang Yuan, his knowledge of dream realms still shallow, cannot say why. ^{ch. 1337}

Meanwhile Bai Ning Bing and Hei Lou Lan find themselves in a fogged world of birds and flowers, where a variant human Gu Immortal identifies it as the Mushroomman Paradise. Bai Ning Bing’s dragon pupils shrink at the name. Hei Lou Lan, recognizing the mushroomman’s kind, wonders aloud whether the place belongs to Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable. ^{ch. 1337}
