Mao Li Qiu

A voice powerful beyond anything Flood Extremity can imagine suppresses him completely inside the fate reversing refinement sub formation, telling him not to be afraid and not to move. The voice calls him the descendant of its master and promises not to eat him as long as he does not attack. A huge, purple-furred, dog-tailed beast then reveals itself, rejects being called a steed, and gives its own name: Mao Li Qiu, or Grandpa Mao for short. Grandpa Mao slashes apart the sub formation Black Extremity had built with much difficulty, binds Flood Extremity and Black Extremity in its breath, and carries them flying toward Reverse Flow River to retrieve Ma Hong Yun and the love Gu. ^{ch. 1278}

Appearance

It is hill-like in size and its eyes shine a purple crystal color. ^{ch. 1278} Its beast face makes very human-like expressions. ^{ch. 1280} It bares sharp fangs and its hair stands on end when it is agitated. ^{ch. 1284} It scratches deep marks into the ground with its claws. ^{ch. 1285}

As it ages the dog tail shrinks with its lifespan and vanishes near death. When it senses the end it can devour an immemorial desolate beast dog, gain that lifespan, and grow the tail again, which is why it still lives after Giant Sun’s death. ^{ch. 1280}
