At Black Extremity’s Gu formation, Flood Extremity reads that the layout is incomplete, like a lake missing a link to the sea, and Black Extremity praises him as a quasi-great grandmaster of water path who comprehends other paths through his main path. Black Extremity confirms the main formation is Snowy Mountain’s fate reversing sacrificial refinement formation and explains how activating the sub formation will draw Reverse Flow River toward them with Ma Hong Yun and Zhao Lian Yun at the front. ^{ch. 1270}

While Black Extremity manipulates the sub formation that collapses Snowy Mountain, Flood Extremity defends him and, at the final moment, uses water path methods to direct Reverse Flow River. ^{ch. 1271} Black Extremity later tells him that collecting the river will destroy the sub formation, so Flood Extremity must time opening his immortal aperture, and that as a water path Gu Immortal he has a big advantage doing so. ^{ch. 1276}

A voice powerful beyond anything Flood Extremity can imagine suppresses him completely inside the fate reversing refinement sub formation, before he can react. The voice belongs to Mao Li Qiu, who tells him not to be afraid and not to move, calls him the descendant of its master, and promises not to eat him as long as he does not attack. Mao Li Qiu then destroys the sub formation and carries him flying toward Reverse Flow River. ^{ch. 1278}

At Reverse Flow River’s bank, Flood Extremity tells Liu Guan Yi that if he protects Ma Hong Yun and Zhao Lian Yun and hands them to Longevity Heaven, they can make an exception and allow him to become an external supreme elder, placing him in Northern Plains’ righteous path with Huang Jin welcome despite lacking Huang Jin bloodline. ^{ch. 1283}

Narration names him Flood Extremity Yu Yi Yi when Bing Sai Chuan sends all Eight Extremities out of Calamity Luck Altar to attack Book Mountain; they activate the ancient battle formation Eight Extremities and surge from rank seven toward rank eight elite strength. ^{ch. 2182}
