Shang Yan Fei

City guards in Shang Clan City name him lord clan leader when they recognise him beside Shang Xin Ci. ^{ch. 259} At that stage he is rank five upper stage, only a step from peak. Shang clan is a Southern Border overlord seated on that city and mountain line. ^{ch. 258 ch. 259}

Appearance

He sits cross-legged in the air with his whole body bathing in flames. The flames are scarlet like blood and burn silently. When the cultivation ends, the scarlet flames shrink and change back into long crimson hair on his head. His pupils are dyed the color of blood. ^{ch. 258} On a city street he is a black-robed, crimson-haired handsome man, conspicuous in the crowd. Shang Xin Ci knows this middle-aged man’s identity at a glance. ^{ch. 259} At a clan banquet he wears a white robe with gold inlaid cuffs. Scarlet hair flies around wildly before resting on his waist, and that hair with his extremely handsome face forms an aura unique to him. He looks like a youth in his twenties. ^{ch. 269} He is a famous handsome man of Southern Border, entangled with Doctor Su Shou in the eyes of Killer Ghost Doctor Chou Jiu. ^{ch. 385}

Clan leader and rise

Before he held the seat he was a Shang young master who gave up that post under pressure from a rival alliance, lived as an ordinary clansman in a private residence during that fallen period, and later kept that residence after becoming clan leader as a reminder for himself and later generations. ^{ch. 269} Wei Yang rose under him from the battle stages and became an external elder once Shang Yan Fei took power. ^{ch. 265} Wei Yang is one of the five great generals under him; Shang Bu Li is named the number one general, and Yi Huo the fifth. ^{ch. 269 ch. 306} Above the ten young masters sits young clan leader Shang Tuo Hai, and above him sit the five elders, Shang Yan Fei, and the Shang supreme elder. ^{ch. 333} In those years he is still rank five upper stage and an expert at the peak of the mortal world. ^{ch. 353} On San Cha Mountain, Tie Mu Bai’s rank five peak cultivation leaves Shang Yan Fei inferior despite his astonishing talent. ^{ch. 370}

Elevating Shang Xin Ci

He meets Shang Xin Ci on the street, reads her as the daughter of the Zhang clan lady he once abandoned for power, and takes her away after she faints. ^{ch. 259} At a clan banquet in the old courtyard he thanks Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing for escorting her, and he announces her as his daughter before the young masters. ^{ch. 269 ch. 270} He spreads dishes with rank five gourmet food box Gu. ^{ch. 269} He offers to clear Bai clan’s arrest warrant and presses further rewards; Fang Yuan refuses that brand, and only after Wei Yang coaches him does he ask for tokens, which Shang Yan Fei answers with purple thorn tokens. ^{ch. 271} He uses man triumphing heaven Gu to awaken Shang Xin Ci’s aperture and spends costly Gu to raise her aptitude from D grade twenty percent to C grade fifty-nine percent, and he chooses many Gu Masters to teach her. ^{ch. 305} Fang Yuan also knows Shang Yan Fei has been collecting the Blood Sea true inheritance and would want blood skull Gu to raise her further. ^{ch. 302}
