Chapter 385

Told to be brief, Chou Jiu says he was once Zeng Ah Niu, a farmer who fell from a cliff into Shadow Sect’s blessed land and passed the land spirit’s test to become a disciple. The only other disciple was a senior sister, Chen Jiu. Raised by the land spirit, she was truly innocent and kind to him, the extremely ugly, bullied one. They swore an oath before the blessed land’s sea, cultivated side by side and ventured into the depths of the door of life and death, taking life Gu and death Gu. ^{ch. 385}

An earth calamity injured the land spirit into hibernation and opened a hole to the outside world, and a heavily injured scoundrel surnamed Shang, with blood red hair, sneaked in. Chou Jiu saved him and regrets it, for the man deceived his senior sister with flowery words and a slightly prettier face. Chou Jiu wanted to expel the recovered scoundrel. Chen Jiu broke their oath, injured Chou Jiu and defected with the scoundrel. Chou Jiu roamed Southern Border hunting the adulterous couple, unaware that the scoundrel led Shang clan. ^{ch. 385}

Fang Yuan stays expressionless, knowing the pair by mid-story from previous life memories. Chou Jiu confirms the scoundrel is the current Shang clan leader Shang Yan Fei and Chen Jiu is Doctor Su Shou. Fang Yuan laughs and sees the plan: with Chou Jiu dead, he must ask Shang Yan Fei and Doctor Su Shou about the life and death door, and the fight that follows favors Chou Jiu whoever wins. Chou Jiu admits it and asks whether Fang Yuan will still inquire, and Fang Yuan says of course. The door is an immemorial forbidden ground like the river of time, and Immortal Gu similar to Spring Autumn Cicada dwell there, so the enormous benefit moves him to enter the scheme knowingly. ^{ch. 385}

Laughing with tears, Chou Jiu says he admires Fang Yuan and regrets not seeing the collision with the adulterous couple. Noting that Shadow Sect holds different views on life and death, he says Fang Yuan may be fated to find its blessed land and the door, and gives him that fate to grasp. Tranquil, he says he will end his own life so that Fang Yuan need not, and bites off his tongue. The ghost doctor, the future head of the four great doctors, dies. ^{ch. 385}

Fang Yuan judges the information important: ruling Shadow Sect’s blessed land and the door of life and death would be a foundation of his hegemony, so he must change his plan again. All the rank five Gu Masters in the blessed land, Tie Mu Bai, Wu Gui, Ku Mo, Wu Lan Shan and Chou Jiu, are now annihilated by him. Any one of them could have easily suppressed the current Fang Yuan alone. ^{ch. 385}

Doctor Su Shou is really Chen Jiu, and Zeng Ah Niu named himself Chou Jiu. The hatred seems born from love. In Fang Yuan’s previous life Chou Jiu threw himself into the battle of Yi Tian mountain to challenge Shang Yan Fei and confront Doctor Su Shou, exposed the past as a prisoner and was killed by Shang Yan Fei. Fang Yuan declines to judge, since Doctor Su Shou’s choice is completely understandable: Shang Yan Fei is a famous handsome man, and Chou Jiu was only the first male she saw. Travelling Doctor Jiu Zhi likes dressing as an old beggar to wander aimlessly, while Divine Doctor Sheng Shou, himself male, likes other males. ^{ch. 385}

Fang Yuan takes all of Chou Jiu’s Gu and stores the rank five movement warp Gu. He then swallows the aperture with beast strength placenta Gu and chuckles that Chou Jiu is cunning. In the previous life Chou Jiu’s throat was cut in the middle of the Yi Tian mountain battle, yet he came back to life, startling both righteous and demonic path, by using remnant life Gu. That rank five expendable Gu lets a Gu Master with an intact body slowly recover and resurrect, but the blessed land’s heavenly power suppresses it until the land crumbles. Chou Jiu’s praise and carefree show were meant to keep his corpse unmutilated.
