Shang Bi Xi

Shang Bi Xi is Shang Yan Fei's tenth son and a contesting Shang clan young master who manages the substitute refinement zone of Shang clan city.

He first appears at Shang Yan Fei’s clan banquet in Shang clan city, among the young masters Wei Yang introduces after Shang Qiu Niu, Shang Chao Feng, and Shang Pu Lao. The text names him manager of the substitute refinement zone. Fang Yuan already knows he hides enormous strength several times higher than Fang Yuan’s own. ch. 269

Pu Lao bloc alliance

At the same banquet he is called tenth son Shang Bi Xi, and when Shang Xin Ci is revealed he congratulates Shang Yan Fei with the others. ch. 269 ch. 270 Later auction-hall narration places him with Shang Pu Lao and Shang Suan Ni as the second largest faction among the ten contesting young masters, then the center of attention and temporarily above Shang Chao Feng and Shang Fu Xi. He is a strength path Gu Master whose core Gu is turtle tire Gu, giving the strength of ten turtles, and he stands with Shang Suan Ni as one of the bloc’s two cultivation fighters while Shang Pu Lao controls the brothels, with literary talent and fate with women. ch. 305 Fang Yuan later restates the same ranking to Shang Xin Ci, naming the Pu Lao, Suan Ni, and Bi Xi alliance as the second faction then in the limelight. ch. 326

Bitter strength Gu auction

Wei Yang’s city tour explains the substitute refinement zone before Bi Xi is named its manager: Gu Masters fear strong-willed wild Gu or Gu left by experts during refinement, higher rank Gu are harder to refine, and Empress Wu Ji once spent eleven years refining a rank five dragon strength Gu, so paying others to refine is a standing market need. ch. 265 ch. 269 Wei Yang warns that besides Shang Ya Zi, Shang Bi Xi and Ju Kai Bei are the main rivals for bitter strength Gu, and narration again pins Bi Xi as a strength path Gu Master with turtle tire Gu, not inferior to Fang Yuan, who controls the city’s substitute refinement zone even though that zone yields little profit compared with Pu Lao’s brothels and Suan Ni’s restaurants and silk stores. ch. 306 At the Ju clan auction he bids three hundred thousand for bitter strength Gu, then looks to eighth and ninth brother when Fang Yuan jumps to five hundred thousand. Shang Pu Lao offers full brotherly support if he wants to keep competing, but Bi Xi decides five hundred thousand is too much of a loss and lets Fang Zheng take the lot. ch. 307

Attack on Shang Xin Ci

Much later, on a nameless small mountain in a rainstorm, he moves to kill Shang Xin Ci, Xiao Lan, and Ye Fan. He claims father, elder brother, and Chao Feng have already died, and that killing Xin Ci would put eighth brother Shang Pu Lao on the clan leader seat. He rejects Xin Ci’s past rescue of Pu Lao as a reason for mercy, pushes aside exhausted Ye Fan, and closes on Xin Ci, but then freezes mid approach, stiff as a statue with fear on his face, before Shang Qing Qing appears and names Xin Ci as the next Shang clan leader. The chapter does not state that he dies in that freeze. ch. 1059

Bi Xi drawing

After Shang Yan Fei distributes the nine children dragon drawings among his children, Shang Xin Ci observes that the Bi Xi drawing looks like a giant tortoise that could carry mountains and rivers. ch. 2122 The observation names the drawing, not Shang Bi Xi in person, and no later cited chapter names him again after the freeze, so this page leaves his fate unsettled. ch. 1059 ch. 2122
