Shang Suan Ni

He first appears at Shang Yan Fei’s clan banquet in Shang clan city, arriving with other young masters as the evening banquet nears. Wei Yang introduces that group to Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing. Fang Yuan’s banquet count later labels him ninth son Shang Suan Ni, with a lion-like mouth and broad nose, and notes that he seems to be using some type of Gu because light yellow smoke comes from his nose when he breathes and curls around him. ^{ch. 269}

Pu Lao bloc alliance

Later auction-hall narration places him with Shang Pu Lao and Shang Bi Xi as Shang Yan Fei’s eighth, ninth, and tenth children, allied by benefits into the second largest faction among the contesting young masters, then temporarily suppressing Shang Chao Feng and Shang Fu Xi. He is in charge of restaurants and silk stores, has a large mouth and wide nose, and still shows two traces of yellow smoke from his nose when he breathes. He stands with Shang Bi Xi as one of the bloc’s two cultivation fighters while Shang Pu Lao controls the brothels, with literary talent and fate with women. Narration notes that Pu Lao’s brothels and Suan Ni’s restaurants and silk stores earn buckets of primeval stones every day, so those brothers would help Bi Xi if he wanted bitter strength Gu. ^{ch. 306} At the Ju clan auction, when Fang Yuan jumps the bid to five hundred thousand, Bi Xi looks to eighth and ninth brother; Shang Pu Lao offers full support if Bi Xi wants to keep competing, and ninth brother Shang Suan Ni does not speak, only looking at Shang Pu Lao. ^{ch. 307}
