Yan Tu

A secret letter from Shang Yan Fei reaches a room where Ju Kai Bei and Yan Tu sit together. They are rank four initial stage Gu Masters who dominate the battle stage and swear not to leave unless they defeat each other, yet they are Shang Yan Fei’s secret pawn pieces. Shang clan promotes whoever dominates the battle stage to Wei Yang’s level into an external clan elder, and the pair is how Shang Yan Fei controls that stage. ^{ch. 311}

On a grass terrain battle stage he stands opposite Bai Ning Bing and opens with rank three fire pellet Gu against her rank two icicle Gu. ^{ch. 312} He has B grade aptitude. Fang Yuan reads Bai Ning Bing as using A grade recovery speed to contest his rank four cultivation while both spend primeval essence on pellets and icicles. He then uses rank three fiery claw Gu, a three-fingered orange-red claw, and a rank four movement Gu that closes distance she cannot hold. ^{ch. 313}

He spends fuel oil Gu, fiery snake Gu, and four fiery claw Gu to form two clawed fiery dragons in a sea of fire, the killer move fire sea twin dragon kill, which onlookers treat as a portion of rank five fiery dragon Gu might. After the clash he takes Bai Ning Bing’s ice crystal Gu. His losses still outweigh that rank three Gu. ^{ch. 314}

He and Ju Kai Bei were once solitary demonic Gu Masters who made a name roaming southern border for ten years, then tired of that pressure. After an even fight that left them spent, he mumbled that if he survived he would go to Shang clan city and join the righteous path. They later sit as hidden elders of Shang clan and follow the clan leader’s commands. ^{ch. 315}

Bai Ning Bing later says she intentionally lost to Yan Tu by a little, suffered heavy injuries, and lost her vital Gu, so she could reach Doctor Su Shou, receive treatment, and evade Fang Yuan’s suspicions. ^{ch. 396}

Wu clan’s second elder is joined by two of Shang clan’s new elders, Yan Tu and Ju Kai Bei, in the second righteous and demonic wave at Yi Tian Mountain. Both sides have wins and losses and reach a deadlock. ^{ch. 965} A later summary of that same wave again places Shang clan’s newly advanced elders Yan Tu and Ju Kai Bei in Wu clan’s attack at the mountain base. ^{ch. 1000}
