Icicle Gu

The name is first spoken in the Qing Mao Mountain duel when Bai Ning Bing wills Icicle Gu against Gu Yue Qing Shu. Five sharp icicles appear from nowhere, then denser volleys turn into an icicle rain that can pierce flesh and hard rock. ^{ch. 141}

Form and rank

No cited chapter describes the Gu worm’s resting look in the aperture. Activation shows the projectiles: sharp icicles that form in air or at a pointing hand and fly on command. ^{ch. 141} The Yan Tu match calls those projectiles white. ^{ch. 312}

Bai Ning Bing later calls it rank two when choosing which long range Gu to keep, and the Yan Tu match narration repeats that Bai Ning Bing’s icicle Gu is only rank two against rank three Fire Pellet Gu. ^{ch. 299 ch. 312 ch. 313}

Effect

The Gu forms sharp icicles and sends them at a target. In the Qing Shu fight they scrap, deflect, or punch through a shoulder, and the lodged ice carries cold air. ^{ch. 141} Against Fang Yuan they mix into a barrage with blue bird ice coffin attacks, and later dozens can fan out when vision is blocked. ^{ch. 166 ch. 190}

Bai Ning Bing judges that even at rank two the Gu can restrict an opponent, and that pairing it with Ice Explosion Gu to detonate the icicles raises the threat, at the cost of primeval essence as the number of icicles rises. ^{ch. 299 ch. 312 ch. 313}

Bai Ning Bing’s Qing Mao use

Before the name appears, Bai Ning Bing forms and shoots an icicle that kills a Gu Master, then throws five finger-sized icicles that carry cold air, neither scene naming Icicle Gu. ^{ch. 132} He later has to abandon using icicles when his right arm is damaged in that fight. ^{ch. 135} Those scenes cannot be treated as confirmed Icicle Gu activations.

Beside Ice Blade Gu and Water Shield Gu, Icicle Gu is one of the named tools Bai Ning Bing brings against Qing Shu, trading icicle volleys for pin needles. ^{ch. 141} In the later mountain fights with Fang Yuan, Bai Ning Bing switches to long range with Blue Bird Ice Coffin Gu and Icicle Gu when close range stalls, then uses Icicle Gu again to spray icicles through white fog. ^{ch. 166 ch. 190}

Bai Ning Bing had icicle Gu alongside ice blade Gu, water shield Gu, blue bird ice coffin Gu, ice muscles Gu, and Frost Demon Gu with Northern Dark Ice Soul Physique, all belonging to the ice and water series. ^{ch. 230} No cited chapter assigns Icicle Gu the label ice path in its own words.
