Chapter 1066

A blood deity is Fang Yuan’s long term plan, Fang Zheng its second step and refining blood deity Immortal Gu the first. Refining that Gu and killing a blood relative together create a blood deity. ^{ch. 1066}

Fang Yuan now holds a recipe for it, only seventy percent complete. He lacked resources as an immortal zombie, and can no longer use the light of wisdom now revived. His grandmaster attainment in blood and wisdom path can deduce the rest, only more slowly. ^{ch. 1066}

He must first change Fang Zheng’s feelings. A relative refined while full of hatred backlashes, a double edged sword that strikes enemies but can wound its owner too if he drops his guard. Wisdom path and emotion path hold many ways to force him docile, but any of them would only mask his true feelings. ^{ch. 1066}

Once killed and refined, every wisdom path mark placed on Fang Zheng clears away, leaving pure blood marks, and his true emotions return with them. Fang Yuan must change Fang Zheng’s perspective slowly and genuinely instead. ^{ch. 1066}

He trains Fang Zheng toward that goal. He sends a fake will to replenish what was used up in his mind. Over the following days he grows very skilled at processing interior rain, and land spirit gives him another set of materials to practise the technique on. ^{ch. 1066}

When free, Fang Yuan tends his sovereign immortal aperture. Its resources are safer than the outside world’s. An immortal aperture may even form a wholly new wild Immortal Gu of its own. ^{ch. 1066}

His aperture divides into ten layers named after the five regions and nine heavens. He names each mini, Mini Northern Plains and Mini Eastern Sea among them. Their environments match the outside world: Mini Northern Plains is boundless flat grassland with somewhat more wind marks, Mini Western Desert holds most fire marks, and Mini Southern Border holds more earth and some poison marks. ^{ch. 1066}

Fang Yuan redistributes resources by region. Pythons go to Mini Western Desert, dragonfish to Mini Eastern Sea, regretful spiders to Mini Southern Border, and arrow bamboo forest with star fragment grass to Mini Blue Heaven. Air bubble fish, shark fin wolf, worldly sand gull, literature carps, desolate beast giant horned sheep, rockmen, oil water, blood zhi forest and mirror willow trees are placed as well. Production suffers. Arrow bamboo forest and star fragment grass, needing star path marks the aperture lacks, fall drastically. The pythons, needing fire marks, and the dragonfish, needing food and water marks, decline only slightly, while the regretful spiders, needing wisdom marks, hold close to their old rate. The aperture has passed only one calamity, leaving most paths with just around a hundred marks each. ^{ch. 1066}

Qi path marks run far higher, since Fang Yuan took the qi path Gu Immortal Qi Zai’s lifetime accumulation after killing him in Southern Border’s Five Regional Mountain Range. Snow path marks outnumber even those. ^{ch. 1066}

He passed his first earthly calamity only with great difficulty. It surpassed even the ten great catastrophes. Its severity brought a matching reward: snow path marks highest of all, then strength and transformation path, short of his qi path total. ^{ch. 1066}

These new marks are already changing the aperture, though nothing shows yet in the other four small regions. A large, expanding snowy plain has formed in Mini Northern Plains. It lets Fang Yuan plant cold resistant vegetation there. ^{ch. 1066}

Ying Wu Xie’s group gathers materials too. They aim to complete Fixed Immortal Travel, having obtained the light of the immemorial era but needing to buy or trade for the rest. As Shadow Sect’s remnant heir and boss of Defy, Ying Wu Xie trades through that organization first. Defy’s loose structure makes trading hard, and while Ying Wu Xie and Hei Lou Lan talk themselves hoarse, Shi Nu and Tai Bai Yun Sheng have no gift for it. ^{ch. 1066}

After great effort he gathers only three portions. Yu Mu Chun’s death forces him toward the low success rate human isolation style instead of the hairy man heaven and earth style. He and three others risk a return to Earth Abyss, where Shadow Sect’s super Gu formation helps. ^{ch. 1066}

When he has barely gathered six complete portions through Defy, disaster strikes. A member of Defy, demonic Gu Immortal Gong Sun Liang, hiding in Ming Tang valley, is ambushed and captured by Heavenly Court’s Gu Immortals. His call for help throws Defy into huge turmoil. ^{ch. 1066}

Most of Defy’s members, suppressed or excluded by the ten great ancient sects that are themselves only Heavenly Court subsidiaries, fear Gong Sun Liang might implicate them and go into hiding. Ying Wu Xie realizes they suspect his own greed let Gong Sun Liang fall, since he kept the Immortal Gu that Gong Sun Liang had lent him. The suspicion dents his standing as boss. The capture itself cuts away his best source of immortal materials. ^{ch. 1066}

With no choice, he turns to treasure yellow heaven, the biggest market in the five regions. Its fees are high and its trades traceable. Heavenly Court will find this place eventually, he reasons; Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord no longer lives, but Fairy Zi Wei has awakened, and he must refine Fixed Immortal Travel as soon as possible. ^{ch. 1066}

Shadow Sect has emptied its treasury refining sovereign immortal fetus Gu, even feeding Zombie Alliance into the ten extreme formation. Few want to trade with the impoverished Ying Wu Xie. ^{ch. 1066}

He gathers ten portions through treasure yellow heaven, nearly reduced to tears. Before Yi Tian Mountain, a fraction of Shadow Sect’s treasury held ten or twenty whole portions, and one order would have sent Zombie Alliance gathering across the five regions. ^{ch. 1066}

Fang Yuan’s situation progresses smoothly by contrast. Land spirit has agreed a failed attempt will not end the effort, with Fang Yuan alone bearing further costs. His earnings have multiplied thanks to his aperture’s time path foundation, running sixty times the outside world’s pace. ^{ch. 1066}

Only part of these resources reach the market, though. He deliberately mortgaged Dang Hun Mountain to land spirit, despite being able to pay the debt, giving land spirit real motivation.
