Ying Wu Xie, as Defy boss, asks to borrow his Immortal Gu. He hesitates: Central Continent’s righteous path and the ten great ancient sects have chased him, and during a near-fatal escape a mysterious man saved him and led him into Defy. He has gained much help from that organization and finally agrees to lend the Gu because he cannot leave Defy. ch. 1030
Heavenly Court capture
Fairy Zi Wei tells Heavenly Court they shall go to Ming Tang valley to capture Gong Sun Liang. ch. 1052 A Defy member, demonic Gu Immortal Gong Sun Liang who had been hiding in Ming Tang valley, is ambushed and captured by Heavenly Court Gu Immortals. He sends a request for help and Defy falls into turbulence. Members fear he will reveal clues; Ying Wu Xie also loses an optimal source of immortal materials. ch. 1066 Fairy Zi Wei later says that capturing him let Heavenly Court learn about the boss who borrowed Gu from him, which helped point toward Pot River and Feng Chan Zi’s sale of the light of the immemorial era. ch. 1069
