Chapter 1182

Inside a Gu formation, the wills of Not Immortal and Pang Shan activate two rule path Immortal Gu, No and Care, the latter top ten on the List of Mystical Gu. Chu Du fuses their power into the formation around Fang Yuan. Once ready, Fang Yuan tells Chu Du of the human calamity he survived beneath the northern icy plain, and the secret of the snowman and rockman tribes hidden there. Chu Du is extremely shocked. The light fades and Fang Yuan steps out unharmed. ^{ch. 1182}

Bound by the four race alliance not to reveal the two tribes, Fang Yuan breaches that vow safely with No and Care shielding him. Chu Du meant the two Gu to hold firm against Heavenly Lord Bai Zu until a settlement kept Hei Fan grotto-heaven, sacrificing Hao Zhen and Chou Lao Wu only if nothing else remained. Perhaps pressured by the righteous path forces massing against Bai Zu tribe, Heavenly Lord Bai Zu demanded no execution and gave only a light punishment. Fang Yuan still withholds Lang Ya blessed land from Chu Du. ^{ch. 1182}

With the two Gu no longer active, a second breach would leave Fang Yuan severely injured or dead, since they only relieve the restriction rather than remove it. Chu Du concludes they cannot continue tribulation attempts there, and Fang Yuan agrees. Asked what to do about the variant humans, the wills disagree: Not Immortal says their main bodies will not leave Crazed Demon Cave until humanity itself is extinct, while Pang Shan suggests simply exposing them so Northern Plains hunts them down. Chu Du refuses, since a battle that size would destroy the icy plain, gain nothing, and risk exposing and implicating Brother Liu. ^{ch. 1182}

Fang Yuan’s worry eases at hearing this. Revealing the icy plain was required under their alliance agreement, and concealing it would have restricted him badly. The exchange also reveals the mindset of the Three Crazed Demon Eccentrics, fixed on Crazed Demon Cave and unmoved by outside commotion. ^{ch. 1182}

Chu Du stores the two Gu and wills in his own aperture, and returns with Fang Yuan to Hei Fan grotto-heaven’s surface, where enslaved rockmen, feathermen and minimen labor for Chu Sect and Bai Zu tribe. Hao Zhen greets them as first and second supreme elder: Chu Du founded Chu Sect and roped in Fang Yuan under a loose, non-restrictive alliance agreement. Development is still early. The resources funding it, Fang Yuan realizes, once belonged to Hei Fan grotto-heaven itself: he gave much of it to repay Chu Du for No and Care, and because he had already sold some to Heavenly Lord Bai Zu. Hei Fan grotto-heaven now stands divided, the larger share Chu Sect’s and the smaller Bai Zu tribe’s, the whole a symbol of their alliance. ^{ch. 1182}

Saying goodbye to Hao Zhen, Fang Yuan tells Chu Du not to see him off further. Chu Du urges him to delay the tribulation, but Fang Yuan says there are no gains without risk and that he will call on Chu Du if danger comes. Chu Du cannot go with him, since Chu Sect is newly founded and unsettled. Fang Yuan flies out without looking back, and Chu Du, alone, reflects that Fang Yuan is decisive and hard to control. Chu Du still wants the immortal tribulation tempering aperture method for himself, but the current situation is very complex. ^{ch. 1182}

As Fang Yuan leaves, Ying Wu Xie leads Bai Ning Bing, Hei Lou Lan and the others to Jade Pot Mountain in Southern Border. Bai Ning Bing asks why she was brought there. Ying Wu Xie tells her she is too weak: Shadow Sect has an arrangement here, an Immortal Gu already formed, to raise her battle strength for the bet of the Five Xiangs. He says it is too early to tell her what that is. Bai Ning Bing snaps that his air of mystery is what she hates most about him, and Shi Nu glares at her for the disrespect, but Ying Wu Xie only laughs. ^{ch. 1182}
