Chapter 609

With Giant Sun’s will helping, the fusing three qi almost form a cocoon around Tai Bai Yun Sheng. The three qi have merged into a mass of tri-colored primordial qi where his aperture was, completing the second step, receiving qi. In the final step, releasing Gu, he takes out river as before, mountain as before and man as before Gu. These are his core Gu worms, and man as before is his vital Gu. The mortal aperture breaks, and an immortal aperture forms, like a small world, with an azure sky over a desolate wilderness of yellow stones. The aperture grows unstable, so Tai Bai Yun Sheng sends in River As Before and Mountain As Before and keeps placing Gu worms to steady it. It stops growing at four and two thirds of a thousand square kilometres, with a time flow of one to thirty three. Mists of heaven and earth qi brew thirty six beads of rank six green grape immortal essence. The tribulation clouds and calamity dust begin to dissipate, and the mists condense into qi cocoons around man as before and the other Gu worms. ^{ch. 609}

Tai Bai Yun Sheng draws on a theoretical Immortal Gu recipe from the old beggar’s Gu Immortal inheritance, though he cannot guarantee it will succeed. He has no other option. His lifespan is about to exhaust completely, and his time sense, precise to a single breath, tells him he truly has little left. His plan to get lifespan Gu failed through Fang Yuan’s secret manipulations. The recipe says man as before, advanced to rank six, can be used on oneself, so he shouts for refinement and pours the recipe into its cocoon. Through Tai Bai Yun Sheng, Giant Sun’s will has struck the land spirit at its foundation and bought time, and it has seen through most of the besieging Gu formation. It laughs and vows to subdue the land spirit and seal every loophole, so the building will stand for hundreds of thousands of years longer. Frost Jade Peacock swears not to yield even in death, being incomparably proud, but then lies down, its gaze still filled with hatred completely. Outside, Ye Lui Sang marvels that Tai Bai Yun Sheng reached the third step and wonders what grade of blessed land he has formed. Blessed lands come in small, medium and high grades, and the more the three qi fuse, the higher the grade. From small to high, the lands draw ever larger tributaries of the river of time and form over ten, twenty and thirty beads. A high grade one spans four and two thirds to six thousand square kilometres. Such a land keeps leftover heaven and earth qi able to refine mortal Gu into Immortal Gu. Fang Yuan expects a high grade blessed land, but just as a human fusing the three qi draws tribulations, refining an Immortal Gu forms them in the immortal aperture. Pitch-black scars then appear in the golden sky of Imperial Court blessed land, with starlight shining through, the night sky of northern plains. The whole blessed land trembles, and everyone cries out. The tribulation clouds and calamity dust condense again, and large amounts of heaven and earth qi pour into Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s immortal aperture. Fang Yuan sees that too much qi was absorbed from the blessed land, injuring its foundation, so it now reveals the outside world.
