Tai Bai Yun Sheng holds it as one of two rank five Gu that northern plains people recognize him for, paired with River As Before Gu. Both are named time path Gu worms. ch. 524
Effect
In army fights, defense walls raised by earth path Gu can be returned to flat grassland under this Gu, which is why Hei Lou Lan says defense lines are useless once Tai Bai Yun Sheng assists. Gu Guo Long’s piled stone mountain had stood on land that was originally flat grassland, so the Gu returns that ground to that earlier state. ch. 524
Gu tribe stone mountain
When Gu tribe piles stones into a mountain over about ten days, Tai Bai Yun Sheng walks to the front of Hei tribe’s formation, feeds primeval essence into a silver light that becomes a pillar, and names the move mountain as before. Intercepting attacks do not stop the pillar. Humans and beasts stay unhurt while the mountain stones vanish at a visible speed, and Gu tribe’s army falls from hundreds of feet up. On that same day he then persuades Gu tribe to join Hei Lou Lan rather than pressing the slaughter. ch. 524

When Ma Shang Feng tries to hold a defense line after Ma tribe flees, Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s mountain as before Gu wrecks that line so Hei tribe can break through. ch. 543 Fang Yuan later treats river as before and mountain as before as the main materials Tai Bai Yun Sheng will use to create Immortal Gu Landscape As Before after becoming a Gu Immortal, and weighs plans that include plundering both Gu or losing them to self-destruction. ch. 544 ch. 554 Vague rumors in Fang Yuan’s prior life say the two rank five Gu can merge into rank six Landscape As Before when Dao marks attract during immortal ascension. ch. 544
