Landscape as Before Gu

After soul searching Tai Bai Yun Sheng, Fang Yuan finds no Immortal Gu recipe for Landscape as Before, which confirms those rumors: the Gu forms from heaven and earth resonance when Tai Bai Yun Sheng becomes a Gu Immortal. ^{ch. 592}

During Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s immortal ascension, Landscape as Before rises as a fist sized jade ladybug whose back shows rivers and seas on one half and valleys and mountains on the other. He reads it as River as Before and Mountain as Before combined, with their effect elevated. Activated with green grape immortal essence, it restores land around it to the state before an earthly calamity struck. ^{ch. 611} Later text states that rank six Immortal Gu Landscape as Before can restore any mountain or body of water to a past state, and that furniture inside a palace does not count as part of a mountain or body of water. ^{ch. 651} It also cannot restore man made buildings. ^{ch. 902}

Fairy Li Shan went back on the mountain pledge agreement she and Dong Fang Chang Fan had made on Miniscule Mountain, and the time path immortal killer move she had prepared only stalls the backlash for a period rather than cancelling it. Hei Lou Lan’s idea is to destroy Miniscule Mountain so that the agreement fails, then, once the backlash is over, ask Tai Bai Yun Sheng to use Landscape as Before to heal the mountain back to its original state. ^{ch. 814}

With it, wherever the blessed land is damaged it can be fixed, so the damage never reaches the point of summoning the winds of assimilation. ^{ch. 866}

This time path Immortal Gu is very much sought after, because something unexpected can appear at any time in the sea areas Eastern Sea Gu Immortals manage and it has outstanding effects there with instant results. Fang Yuan names Landscape as Before, together with Self Strength and Man as Before, among the Immortal Gu he demands for himself in the trade he forces on Sixth Hair. ^{ch. 1078} He later advances it to rank seven. ^{ch. 1683} Still later he raises it to rank eight, named as the limit of Landscape as Before Immortal Gu, and it remains a time path Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 2136}

Landscape as Before and Man as Before belonged to Shadow Sect, passed to Tai Bai Yun Sheng through Purple Mountain True Monarch. Because Shadow Sect had modified Dang Hun Mountain and Luo Po Valley to let certain Immortal Gu work fully there without dao mark conflict, Landscape as Before restores those two domains easily, but Reverse Flow River, which Shadow Sect never held or modified, resists it and yields only a mild effect. ^{ch. 1302}
